The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership and support to the Project Manager, Superintendents, and field foreman towards the successful planning and execution of all projects.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nKey amongst his/her duties is the recognition that risk directly impacts the likelihood of success and that this risk must be both formally and informally measured throughout the lifetime of the project. Maintain open lines of communication.\nResponsible for making decisions both small and large, in such a way that risk is controlled and uncertainty minimized.\nResponsible for project document control and supporting the creation of budgets, schedules, purchase orders, and subcontracts.\nMonitors overall quantity and quality of work performed on all assigned jobs.\nProvides support to the billing department as needed; e.g. provide schedule of values, answer questions on applied costs or billing requirements per the contract.\nSupports the process for changes orders and other circumstances changing the scope of work and payment for such changes.\nMonitors contract compliance for each job to ensure the company is protected regarding liabilities matters and liens (collection matters).\nSupports the technical advisor for the project.\nParticipates in resolving difficult issues or start-up\nEnsures compliance with all company policies and procedures.\nFollows and ensures compliance with all company safety program requirements.\nPromotes safety among peers, subordinates and supervisors.\nPerforms additional assignments at the direction of a Project Manager and/or Sr. Project Manager/Division Manager.\n\nEDUCATION:\n\nA high school diploma or GED equivalent required.\nConstruction Management Bachelor of Science certification preferred but not required.\nA 4-year engineering degree preferred but not required.\nPrimavera Scheduling or similar scheduling software preferred.\nAccubid or similar estimating software experience preferred.\nSpectrum program, or equivalent, experience preferred.\n\nLICENSE: Possess or ability to obtain a valid class C California driver's license and a California Electrical Certification (Journeyman’s License).\n\nEXPERIENCE:\n\nA minimum of 4 years’ experience in similar type construction environment required.\nProven experience in working with construction personnel and projects.\nProven experience in understanding contracts to ensure compliance with terms and protect the company’s rights in lien and collection matters.\n\nSKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:\n\nExcellent organizational, leadership, communication, planning and analytical skills required.\nMust possess a combination of skills including an ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve interpersonal conflicts as well as more systematic management skills.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit for prolong periods.\nThe employee is frequently required to use hands to fingers, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.\nAbility to operate a motor vehicle, required.\n\nTemporary Part- Time Position. Maximum 8 Months.\n\nWorking conditions consists of temperature-controlled buildings or offices, outside elements such as rain, cold, and heat when working with in open environments, driving from various locations or attending meetings, etc. Noise levels are moderate to loud depending on work location.\n\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature of the work performed by employees assigned to this position.
