Executive Director, Head of Global Markets - Americas
JOB PURPOSE:As Head of ALM USA, the role oversees all ALM activities for the Washington Branch, delivering ALM initiatives aligned to FAB Group strategic, regulatory and financial objectives, with a core focus on liquidity and balance sheet risk management and investment. The role ensures full compliance with internal policies, limits and local and international liquidity and regulatory requirements, while contributing to business development across the ALM product suite and contribute to USA ALCO. It requires close collaboration with senior leadership to support business growth, optimise financial performance and mitigate risk, and includes a client‑facing mandate focused on liquidity raising and cross‑selling ALM products, including USCP, Yankee CDs and deposits.Key Accountabilities:Proactively manage the balance sheet, funding profile and liquidity risks of the Washington Branch within the ALCO / ALM framework, including monitoring funding gaps, market risk limits and Approved Products, and escalating issues to senior management where required.Ensure the Branch always maintains adequate liquidity, in compliance with local regulatory requirements and internal operating policies, including internal liquidity metrics (e.g. SMMR) and applicable international regulatory standards, with a strong working knowledge of LCR and NSFR.Maintain a client‑facing mandate as part of the ALM team, focused on liquidity raising and the origination and cross‑selling of ALM products, including USCP, Yankee CDs and deposits.Diversify and expand the client base, delivering bespoke liquidity and balance sheet solutions, ensuring high‑quality execution across ALM products, and effectively distributing FAB/NBAD capabilities in coordination with ALM Traders on pricing.Support business development and relationship management activities by acting as the ALM “eyes and ears” in the USA, identifying cross‑selling opportunities and emerging client needs, and working closely with London and other international FAB centres to capture flow, align pricing and ensure a consistent global FAB offering.Remain fully abreast of US and Federal Reserve regulatory developments impacting FAB, proactively advising ALCO and senior management on required actions to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.Ability to look at both liquidity risk and revenue generation within the ALM framework and policy.Qualifications & Experience:Minimum Experience7 years’ experience in Treasury, Money Market dealing, or balance sheet / liquidity management within a financial institution.Strong understanding of balance sheet and liquidity risks, associated mitigation strategies, and key liquidity metrics, with demonstrated experience applying these in a live environmentSound working knowledge of US regulatory and compliance requirements, including Federal Reserve expectations relevant to liquidity and balance sheet management.Proven track record of effective liquidity and risk management, delivering consistent financial performance across varying market conditions.Demonstrated strategic thinking, with the ability to originate value‑added and revenue‑generating ideas and enhance existing arbitrage or balance sheet optimisation tools.Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret data and translate analysis into clear commercial and risk‑based decisions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clearly to senior stakeholders and collaborate effectively across functions.Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop others, fostering growth, knowledge transfer and consistent performance standards within the team.Highly self‑motivated, with strong interpersonal, resource management and commercial awareness.
