(GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.\nWe are seeking a Simulation and Visualization Engineering Supervisor to lead a growing team within Strategic Analysis and Operations at GA-ASI in San Diego, CA. This position reports to Operations Analysis (OA) and is responsible for the planning, management, and technical performance of an engineering unit specializing in algorithm development and data science for high-end visualizations of large datasets generated from mission analysis tools such as AFSIM, Command Professional Edition (CPE), and STK. The supervisor will manage all phases of assigned engineering projects from inception through completion while leading a team of moderately experienced professional staff.\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nLead and manage engineering teams in simulation-based algorithm development, data science, and visualization projects, ensuring technical, quality, business, and financial objectives are met.\nOversee data science and visualization for advanced aircraft projects using data sets generated by STK, AFSIM, and Command Professional Edition to reveal mission effectiveness and system performance insights.\nResolve complex engineering problems, act as a consulting technical resource, and apply advanced data visualization techniques.\nDevelop novel data-driven methods to clearly convey advanced designs and CONOPS.\nPrepare and present technical reports and findings at engineering meetings, program reviews, and customer forums.\nMaintain frequent communication with internal stakeholders and external customers, documenting and presenting technical results.\nImplement data visualization strategies for the Strategic Development business unit and contribute to business development, capture, and proposal efforts.\nProvide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to less experienced and early-career engineers, mentoring them for advancement into Operations Analysis and Simulation & Visualization roles.\nSupport hiring, attraction, selection, retention, and development of professional and technical talent.\nPerform annual performance assessments.\n\nWe recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.\n\nJob Qualifications\nTypically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD.
