This is hands-on ownership of a highly advanced extrusion operation at a growing specialty plastics manufacturer.A company in the greater Philadelphia area has recently completed commissioning of a major new extrusion line and is seeking a steady, technical 2nd shift supervisor to run it safely, consistently, and at high quality.Why This Role ExistsThe business has made a significant investment in next-generation extrusion technology capable of processing a broad range of engineering-grade polymers. With a leadership gap on 2nd shift, they need a strong, solutions-oriented supervisor to protect uptime, quality, and throughput.What You Will Own• Lead and develop a small 2nd shift team (typically 1–2 operators)• Oversee safe, consistent extrusion production• Troubleshoot process issues in real time• Maintain strong shift-to-shift communication and handoff• Ensure quality standards for engineering-grade materials• Support scrap reduction and throughput improvement initiatives• Serve as the extrusion expert on your shiftWhat Strong Candidates Look Like• Proven extrusion experience (required)• Experience supervising or leading operators• Comfortable processing engineering-grade resins• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude• Ability to work a true 2nd shift (approximately 3 PM – 11 PM)Compensation & Benefits• $60,000 - $75,000 depending on experience• Overtime eligibility depending on base structure• Full, competitive benefits packageWhat This Role Is Not• Not a day-shift position • Not a desk-heavy or purely administrative supervisor jobIf you want real ownership on a technically advanced extrusion line and are ready to build stability and culture on 2nd shift, this is worth a confidential conversation.
