OR PhD Degree in Plant PhysiologyRepository and/or gene bank management.Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPointDuties:Enrollee will provide advice and information on clonal germplasm as it relatesto plant gene bank operations and development. Theenrollee shall not make decisions on federally based research on behalf ofGovernment policy makers, and the enrollee shall not supervise any Governmentemployees.Advise staff on best practices for propagation and preservation of clonalgermplasm. 25%Develop best practices for gene bank development of clonalgermplasm. 25%Advise the National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS) and the NationalLaboratory for Genetic Resources Preservation (NLGRP) on collection goals andimplementation for clonal germplasm and pollen. 25%Advise NPGS and NLGRP on data analysis of clonal germplasm propagation andpreservation, and on inclusion of descriptors and data in the Genetic ResourcesInformation Network (GRIN). 25%Other:Health and Safety Considerations: General laboratory safety training and useof personal protective equipment.
