The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects and teams.\n\nThis is a hands-on role in which the Chief Engineer will be required to diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems using tools, using personal experience, and technical knowledge.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nTechnical Oversight:\n\nOversee and directly diagnose and be able to personally repair and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems using tools, experience, and technical knowledge.\n\nProvide technical guidance to the facilities team and management for review designs and proposal to ensure engineering solutions align with organizational goals.\n\nDesign, implement, and optimize technical programs to improve facility efficiency, reliability, and safety.\n\nTeam Leadership and Management:\n\nSupervise, mentor, and guide facilities teams, assign tasks, and foster a positive work environment.\n\nProject Management:\n\nOversee projects from conception to completion, include planning, budgeting, and resource allocation; ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.\n\nBudget and Resource Management:\n\nManage engineer budgets, allocate resources effectively, and negotiate with vendors.\n\nCompliance and Safety:\n\nEnsure compliance with safety regulations and company standards, conduct safety inspections, and implement preventative maintenance programs.\n\nCommunication and Collaboration:\n\nEffectively communicate with stakeholders, include clients, vendors, and other departments, and foster collaboration within the team and across the organization.\n\nProblem Solve and Troubleshooting:\n\nIdentify and resolve technical issues, develop innovative solutions based upon direct hands-on diagnosis and experience personally repairing equipment/systems.\n\nConduct root cause analysis (RCA) for system failures and implement corrective actions.\n\nReporting and Documentation:\n\nPrepare reports for management, maintain accurate documentation of engineering processes and procedures, and analyze data to improve performance.\n\nTraining and Development:\nProvide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers and/ technicians/facilities staff.\n\nQualifications:\n\nFive + years of direct hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of HVAC, painting, carpentry, plumbing and electricity (having personally performed such work).\nApplicable training, or certification, in HVAC and/or other related trade licenses/ certification in order to provide hands on experience\nStrong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.\nExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\nBilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nAble to lift, pull and push materials and equipment up to 50 lbs. to complete assigned job tasks.\nWork in an upright standing position for long periods of time;
