Title: Pharmacy ManagerState Role Title: 48133Hiring Range: starting at $134,864 (commensurate based on experience)Pay Band: 6Agency: Dept Behavioral Health/DevelopLocation: Western State HospitalAgency Website: https://dbhds.virginia.gov/facilities/wsh/Recruitment Type: General Public - GJob DutiesWestern State Hospital is seeking a full time Pharmacy Manager who will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of all pharmacy services provided by Western State Hospital (WSH) department of pharmacy, whose services should be maintained within accepted state, federal, and TJC regulations and guidelines. The Pharmacy Manager will be required to ensure that the performance planning and evaluation systems are completed by established deadlines with proper documentation; performance issues are addressed and documented as they occur; staff receive frequent, constructive feedback, including interim evaluations as appropriate; serves as "Pharmacist in Charge" with overall responsibility for compliance with Board of Pharmacy regulations; and directs the drug distribution system for the hospital, providing satisfactory services to the medical staff and nursing department.The Pharmacy Manager will also participate in the management of WSH drug budget by working with the Chief Financial Officer and Medical staff; collaborate with others in maintaining a current formulary; collaborate with clinical department heads by attendance and participation in committees, task forces, and training, especially Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and Nursing; participate with hospital administration in planning and evaluation of resources related to number and type of personnel, recruitment and retention issues, and pharmacy equipment and computer systems.This Position Is Eligible For retirement with cash match paid time off health, vision, and dental insurance life insuranceMinimum Qualifications must have Doctorate in Pharmacy and license to practice as a Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Pharm D is required. experience in a hospital pharmacy setting knowledge of pharmacy computer systems ability to manage/supervise others ability to problem solve, make independent decision and be creative/innovative in high stress situations superior knowledge in the correct clinical applications of psychopharmacological principles superior ability to communicate verbally and in writing with clinical staffAdditional Considerations business/management training or experience bilingual veteranSpecial InstructionsYou will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or résumé is submitted successfully.
