{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"3eacbe325d7b4b975bf92df6","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/3eacbe325d7b4b975bf92df6","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/3eacbe325d7b4b975bf92df6","title":"Software Embedded Engineering Manager","description":"Position Overview Software Engineering Manager – Embedded Software, BIETC, Bangalore.\r\nResponsibilities Manage a team of software engineers to develop and manage Avionics (Cockpit/Cabin) products.\r\nDecompose aircraft-level requirements to product-line level and establish traceability.\r\nLead engineering and technical activities in Avionics Software Engineering, developing project or operational plans aligned with department objectives.\r\nImplement plans to meet business, technical and customer requirements, assigning authority and responsibilities to team members.\r\nReview plans, adjust as needed, resolve issues, and monitor metrics to ensure performance to plan.\r\nForecast resource needs, make hiring decisions, and coach, counsel, mentor employees, providing developmental opportunities.\r\nEnsure team works effectively with all development teams and provide ongoing feedback.\r\nEnforce company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety, security, use of company property, time charging, etc.\r\nProvide technical direction and guidance regarding approved processes, tools, technology and skills for projects.\r\nCommunicate development processes (including Iterative and Agile) and roles of software and system engineers.\r\nEnsure workgroup products or processes meet customer, company, quality, industry and regulatory requirements.\r\nApprove technical approaches, products and processes.\r\nPartner with internal and external stakeholders, maintain relationships, develop strategies and objectives aligned with the organization's strategy.\r\nCoordinate with US-based stakeholders for planning and forecasting activities, report to senior management.\r\nDrive innovation, identify opportunities for improvements in product, process, quality and productivity.\r\nAct as point of contact for system engineering activities for equipment.\r\nDevelop and manage software development and verification results, support SRR, PDR, CDR, and software architecture development.\r\nAdopt Model Based Development where applicable.\r\nBasic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, or higher.\r\n12–20 years of experience, with at least 5 years as a people manager.\r\nKnowledge of DO-178B/C, DO-254, DO-160, SAE ARP 4754, SAE ARP 4761, ARINC 661.\r\nExperience in Avionics system design and development of Avionics applications.\r\nStrong fundamentals in Real-time Operating Systems, including HW/software/kernel level allocation.\r\nExperience with cabin systems is preferable.\r\nSystems thinking, analytical skills, and ability to understand inter-relationships across the organization.\r\nDemonstrated Software Engineering experience across multiple phases of the program life cycle.\r\nStrong communication skills with engineers, executives, senior-level management and non-engineering staff.\r\nMaster's degree preferred; post-graduate degree in management a plus.\r\nPreferred Qualifications Master's degree in engineering.\r\nPost-graduate degree in management.\r\nRelocation Relocation based on candidate eligibility if required.\r\nEqual Opportunity Employer We are an equal opportunity employer and do not accept unlawful discrimination in our recruitment or employment practices on any grounds including but not limited to race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, genetics, military and veteran status, or other characteristics covered by applicable law.
