Rubber Mixing Mill Operator
Overview:
This position is for a Machine Operator to set up and operate a 2-roll rubber mixing mill, screw Extruder and Ram Barwell in a manufacturing environment. In this role you will ensure safe and efficient running of production. Must be reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is provided, however once trained, will generally be working independently. Looking for someone with some kind of mixing experience (Ex: mixing silicone, plastics, powders, composites, curing agents, industrial dough mixer). Our work week is only a four-day work week! Manufacturing department employees work four 10-hour days: Mon-Thurs, 6am to 4:30pm with Fri, Sat, and Sun off. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
Set up a 2 roll rubber mixing mill to start a production or compound mixing job and work according to written work instructions
Set up screw Extruder and ram Barwell machines and run product to given specifications.
Feed raw material in proper quantities/percentages to mix compound
Trouble-shoot and/or address issues that might occur during the shift and/or contact maintenance for repair(s) if needed
Check output to spot any out of tolerance parts produced
Clock into and out of ERP system’s time tracking software on all jobs
Skills:
Proficiency in mixing experience that understands importance of measuring ingredients and mixing them properly
Working knowledge of a manufacturing environment and measurement tools (caliper, snap gauge etc.)
Understanding of production procedures and work instructions
Adherence to health and safety regulations. Safety toe shoes required.
Ability to follow written instructions and have attention to detail. Need to be aware of expiration dates of material and handle accordingly.
Must be able to work independently and have good communication skills
Physical stamina and strength. Must be able to stand for 10 hours and occasionally pick up 50 lb. boxes.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Mill Operator or similar role preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and commitment to producing high-quality results
