Our mission is to help home service professionals earn the trust they deserve online.\r\nRealWork is the marketing engine behind thousands of contractors nationwide. We transform their best jobs into SEO-optimized stories, photos, and reviews that drive growth. Through integrations with leading field service platforms, we automate meaningful customer engagement after each job and use job content to help contractors' online presence better reflect the quality of their work in the field.\r\nRealWork is based 100% in the US and headquartered in Austin, TX.\r\nThe Role\r\nAs a Jr. Web Developer / Website Specialist at RealWork, you'll be on the front lines of launching contractor websites built on our Duda-based template platform. This is a hands-on production role: you'll take a contractor's brand, jobs, and service mix and turn it into a fast, beautifully built, SEO- and GEO-optimized site that helps them win more work in their local market.\r\nMost of the long-form copy on these sites is generated by our AI content engine, which is fed by a structured onboarding interview and the contractor's job history. Your job isn't to write every word from scratch - it's to bring taste, judgment, and a real point of view to what ships. You'll catch what AI gets wrong, sharpen what it gets right, and make sure every page reads like it was built by someone who actually understands the contractor and their customer.\r\nThis role is a great fit for someone early in their web career who has shipped real sites, has strong design instincts, cares about how pages actually rank and convert, and is excited to work inside an AI-native production workflow.\r\nWhat You'll Do:\r\nBuild and launch contractor websites on the RealWork template, configuring layouts, modules, and content for each new customer.\r\nWork inside our AI content pipeline – reviewing and editing generated page copy so every site has a clear voice and a real point of view.\r\nHandle light HTML/CSS customization within the web builder (and occasionally outside of it) to deliver a polished, on-brand result.\r\nEnsure the application of SEO and GEO best practices on every site: page structure, metadata, schema, internal linking, service-area pages, and Google Business Profile alignment.\r\nBring design judgment to typography, layout, imagery, and overall visual polish—making sure each launched site looks like our best work, not a templated default.\r\nPartner with the Activation and Customer Success teams to translate onboarding inputs (interviews, brand assets, job data) into a launched site on schedule.\r\nQA every site before launch—across desktop and mobile—for performance, accessibility, broken links, and content accuracy.\r\nHelp us improve the template itself: surface patterns, friction points, and opportunities to make the next launch faster and better than the last.\r\nThings You Might Work On\r\nBuilding a roofing contractor's site leveraging an AI-generated draft, and a folder of job photos.\r\nBuilding and refining master templates – new page types, reusable modules, or design improvements that lift quality across every site we launch.\r\nConfiguring embeds for our RealWork widgets (job stories, reviews, photos) to live cleanly inside customer sites.\r\nAuditing live sites post-launch and partnering with CS on iterative improvements based on performance data.\r\nWho You Are\r\n1-3 years of experience building websites in a professional or freelance capacity, with a portfolio of live sites you can point to.\r\nComfortable working in HTML and CSS – you can read it, write it, and debug it without hand-holding.\r\nExperience with DNS and domain configuration. You understand A records, CNAMEs, nameservers, and TTLs, and you can confidently guide a non-technical client through updating them at their registrar.\r\nHands-on experience with at least one website builder or CMS (Duda, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, Framer, or similar).\r\nA working understanding of SEO fundamentals: page structure, metadata, schema, content hierarchy, and how search engines interpret a page.\r\nFamiliarity with local SEO / GEO concepts – Google Business Profile, service-area targeting, NAP consistency, and location-specific content.\r\nGenuine design sense. You don't have to be a Product Designer, but you should care about typography, spacing, hierarchy, and color, and be able to spot when something looks off.\r\nA clear point of view on what makes website copy good. You can tell when something reads as generic, off-brand, or low-trust, and you know how to fix it.\r\nDetail-oriented and self-managing. You can own a launch checklist, hit a deadline, and not let things slip through the cracks.\r\nEven Better If You\r\nHave worked with home services, trades, or other local-service businesses and understand how they get found and chosen online.\r\nAre comfortable using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, etc.) as part of your daily workflow – not just as a novelty.\r\nHave shipped sites with structured data / schema markup and can speak to why it matters.\r\nHave done any of: copywriting, content editing, photography selection/curation, or brand work.\r\nAre comfortable giving and receiving direct feedback on craft – your work and other people's.\r\nRead every bullet in a list like this one.\r\nWhy Join RealWork?\r\nStartup environment within a stable, industry-leading company\r\nCompetitive salary, bonus structure & equity\r\nExcellent Health, Dental, Vision and Parental Benefits\r\nRegular team outings & events\r\nFlexible PTO\r\n401(k)\r\nRealWork is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
