Participates in the Center Behavioral Management System (BMS)and/or the Student Code of Conduct (SCC) program as necessary to ensure proper workplace conduct, appearance and behavior. Sets a positive example as a role model to students by displaying appropriate etiquette, timeliness, and dress.\n\n*Duties and Responsibilities*\n\n* Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum student motivation.\n* Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting to ensure maximum learning.\n* Instructs on the Driver’s Education curriculum in accordance with the Job Corps requirements and program specifications.\n* Counsels and motivates students regarding behavior, training, personal and/or study habits and problems.\n* Develops and prepares supplemental lessons and recommends curricula changes.\n* Individualizes the Driver’s Education curriculum to fit the students’ experiences.\n\n· Studies, plans, organizes, develops, and implements the assigned subjects independently using the Job Corps manual and center operating procedures as a guide and develops individual classroom operating procedures and specific directives for classroom maintenance in conjunction with Job Corps regulations.\n\n· Maintains required records in accordance with applicable regulations, which include progress reports and accountability reports.\n\n· Provides constructive criticism, advice and guidance to students in a professional manner, taking into consideration the age and abilities of the student.\n\n* Responsible for ensuring that security measures are taken, and equipment and supplies are maintained.\n\n· Prepares reports such as student/staff hours, requisitions, and monthly student evaluations.\n\n· Maintains classroom environment (behavior and surroundings) conducive to learning.\n\n· Attends required staff training sessions.\n\n* Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property, adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.\n* Cultivate and maintain a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.\n\n_The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by a person in this position.
