This role is dedicated to optimizing query performance, ensuring high availability, and managing data storage to meet complex organizational requirements. You will work closely with the Cloud Architect to ensure database resources are updated, secure, and performant across cloud environments.RESPONSIBILITIES:Database Operations & Maintenance\r\nCoordinate with the Azure Cloud Architect SME to implement and maintain the operational aspects of CSM databases.\r\nManage and execute updates, storage configurations, security protocols, and troubleshooting for Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.\r\nMonitor and optimize operational resources to ensure consistent database health and performance.\r\nPerformance & Optimization\r\nAugment query performance through systematic monitoring and tuning.\r\nOptimize operational resources as needed to support application efficiency and minimize latency.\r\nResilience & Continuity\r\nDesign and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) environments for all database resources to ensure mission continuity.\r\nImplement redundant database architectures that align with organizational uptime requirements.\r\nData Security & Integrity\r\nSecure and store CSM data within relational databases to meet strict organizational and security requirements.\r\nEnsure all data storage solutions are compliant with CSM needs and federal security standards.QUALIFICATIONS:Basic :Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.\r\nExperience: 2–4 years of cloud engineering experience with a focus on database management.\r\nTechnical Skills:○ Proficiency in database management, security, and troubleshooting for MS SQL and Azure SQL.○ Experience designing redundant and highly available database architectures.○ Strong skills in data aggregation and database development.○ Familiarity with CI/CD and DevSecOps toolchains.Certification: Security+ certification.\r\nSecurity Clearance: U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearancePreferred:Active DoD Top Secret clearance.\r\nCloud-specific certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Associate).\r\nCertification: Active Security+ certification.\r\nExperience implementing DISA STIG configurations for databases.\r\nKnowledge of DoD SRG and NIST SP 800-53 security controls.Location: Ventura, CA or RemoteCompany SummaryJoin the VSolvit Team!
