Locations: This is a hybrid role that can sit in our Milwaukee, WI, Charlotte, NC or Rome, GA markets.
Pay Range : $54.90 - $82.35
Major Responsibilities
Supervise or monitor projects relating to environmental exposures to multiple chemical and physical hazards to ensure that work is executed safely, on time and in accordance with company policies, procedures and established standards
Oversee the maintenance and required communication of exposure records
Analyze data and provide recommendations for corrective actions to address identified hazards
Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership regarding trends, risks, and continuous improvement opportunities
Monitor and assess workplace hazards, recommend appropriate control measures and track action items
Perform onsite investigations for indoor air quality complaints across the enterprise
Perform risk assessments for various chemical, physical or biological hazards and processes and make recommendations to improve teammate safety and compliance with federal and state regulations
Provide industrial hygiene expertise and assistance to departments, projects and contractors
Recommend and review all industrial hygiene-related virtual and in-person training as needed
Ensure acquisition, maintenance and proper utilization of industrial hygiene equipment such as: noise dosimeters, indoor air quality analyzers, moisture meters, heat stress equipment, etc.
Review industrial hygiene equipment needs for all markets
Serve as Advocate Health representative to outside regulatory and compliance agencies as needed
Regularly review and update industrial hygiene policies and procedures to ensure compliance with changing regulations
Fulfill HR responsibilities including interviewing, selecting, developing and managing a team of certified industrial hygienists located in multiple states and markets
Designs and directs the work of the team(s). Selects, coaches, and developsteam(s). Sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manages performance by recognizing achievement, providing feedback, and administering progressive discipline when necessary
May develop and/or recommend operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives
Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that people actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the organization's business
Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification Required
None
Education Required
Master’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Chemistry, or a related scientific field
Experience Required
Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial hygiene or occupational health and safety
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Advanced knowledge of OSHA regulations
Advanced knowledge of exposure limits for various chemicals
Experience working with industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and sampling methodology
Advanced knowledge of MS Office
Experience managing direct reports
Preferred Job Requirements
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
Preferred Education
Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene or Occupational Safety is preferred
Preferred Experience
Equipment knowledge
Familiarity with NFPA 70E
Experience working with regulatory agencies
Auditing energized electrical work
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Experience working in a healthcare setting
Experience communicating and working with OSHA and Joint Commission
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
Travel on an as need basis to Advocate Facilities across the organization for on-site visits, sampling and training is required. Position may require up to 50% travel locally within market. May be exposed to road and weather hazards.
