Civil/Structural Engineer / Field Inspector (Entry Level)

The job will provide valuable experience in multiple engineering disciplines and training for professional certifications, including the Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Job Purpose:
Conducts construction site field inspections to review installations to verify compliance with the design documents and the requirements specified in the NYC Building Code.
Duties:
Special Inspections:
· Visits construction sites to review work in progress, inspect materials and check the method of installation.
· Supervises field construction by inspecting installation, documenting progress and coordinating with the field and design teams to meet building code requirements.
· Manages and tracks non-compliance items and ensures completion through coordination with contractors, vendors and consultants.
· Keeps information accessible by organizing and saving plans and documents; updating field reports, tracking logs, code databases and project lists; documenting installations and modifications.
· Provides project status information by summarizing required actions remaining for sign off.
Job Requirements:
We are seeking to build our team with a motivated individual with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, a good attitude and a strong grasp of engineering concepts. Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering is required. Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and Engineer in Training (EIT) designations are preferred, but not mandatory.
Skills/Qualifications:
Plan Reading, Problem Solving, Communication and Attention to Details are required, along with an eagerness to learn about the NYC construction industry, building process and Building Codes.
