Accounting Specialist – (AR/AP)

Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail‑oriented Accounting Specialist – AR/AP to support the accuracy of our financial records and the day‑to‑day execution of accounts receivable and accounts payable activities. This role is responsible for ensuring AR and AP transactions are processed accurately and timely, proactively managing receivables, and supporting efficient payment workflows.The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working with multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.Essential Job Functions & DutiesAccounts Receivable (AR)Process incoming customer payments accurately and in a timely mannerApply payments to open A/R balances and resolve discrepanciesInterface with internal departments to address billing disputes and payment issuesCommunicate potential delays or issues to the supervisor proactivelySet up, maintain, and release customer credit holdsPrepare and maintain A/R collections reportsSend customer statements and invoice copies as neededMonitor websites and email inboxes for incoming paymentsProcess deposits and cash application (NAI, NRS, NTA, etc.)Process credit card payments and scan checksFile AR-related documentationAccounts Payable (AP)Enter, verify, and post vendor invoices accurately and on timeProcess employee business expense reports and credit card transactionsPrepare, process, and document AP paymentsFile paid AP documents and maintain organized recordsGeneralMaintain accurate documentation and organized financial recordsSupport additional AR/AP-related tasks as neededEnsure compliance with internal procedures and timelinesQualifications & SkillsExperience with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable preferredStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesEffective communication skills and ability to collaborate cross‑functionallyProficiency with accounting systems and basic office softwareDependable, organized, and proactive work styleWhy Join Us?Stable role with core accounting responsibilitiesOpportunity to contribute directly to financial accuracy and efficiencyCollaborative team environmentHands‑on exposure to both AR and AP functionsCompensation: up to $28 hourly depending on experience
