We'd love to hear from you.\n\nJob Description\nFulfil is hiring an Electrical Controls Engineer to design and support industrial control systems and UL508A compliant control panels for our automation platforms. In this role, you will own the design, documentation, and validation of control panels and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards including UL508A, NFPA79, and NEC (NFPA70). You will work closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to bring reliable, scalable automation systems to life.\n\nIn This Role You Will\n\nDesign industrial control panels in compliance with UL508A, NFPA79, and NEC (NFPA70)\n\nDevelop electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials\n\nSelect and specify control system components including breakers, contactors, PLCs, safety relays, and power supplies\n\nDesign motor control systems, emergency stop circuits, safety circuits, and power distribution architectures\n\nEnsure compliance with NFPA79 requirements for wiring methods, disconnects, grounding, overcurrent protections, and safety circuits\n\nCollaborate with PLC software engineers to integrate controls functionality\n\nSupport panel builds and work closely with contract panel shops\n\nSupport panel certification and labeling processes\n\nTroubleshoot electrical and controls issues during system bring‑up, commissioning, and deployment\n\nSupport installation and commissioning at customer sites as needed\n\nPromote safe engineering practices and ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\nBS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience\n\n5+ years of professional work experience\n\nStrong working knowledge of UL508A, NFPA79, and NEC (NFPA70)\n\nExperience performing SCCR calculations and protection coordination\n\nHands‑on experience designing and documenting control panels and industrial machine wiring systems\n\nExperience with motor control systems\n\nFamiliarity with PLC hardware platforms (SICK, Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, etc.)\n\nKnowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet, Modbus, CAN, etc.)\n\nExperience with functional safety in accordance with ISO13849 or IEC62061\n\nProficiency in electrical CAD tools (SolidWorks Electrical or similar)\n\nStrong troubleshooting skills and practical experience with industrial electrical systems\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\n\nAbility to travel15% of the time\n\nWhat We’d Love To See\n\nExperience working in a UL508A panel shop environment\n\nDirect experience applying NFPA79 to design and installations\n\nFamiliarity with UL field evaluations and inspection processes\n\nExperience supporting high‑volume manufacturing or scalable panel production\n\nKnowledge of functional safety standards (ISO13849 and IEC61508)\n\nPrior experience in robots or automated industrial systems\n\nExperience in a fast‑paced startup environment\n\nNot afraid of robots\n\nWhat You Get\n\nA chance to be an early team member and leader of a rapidly growing startup and have an impact on company and technology direction\n\nThe ability to solve challenging problems with a skilled, dedicated and friendly multi‑disciplinary team\n\nA balanced, highly collaborative work environment\n\nA hybrid work structure\n\nCompetitive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 401K, life, and disability coverage\n\nA PTO policy that encourages and expects employees to take time to enjoy life outside of work\n\nThe salary range for this position is $127,000–$165,000 plus stock and benefits.
