This position will be responsible for all general plumbing and steam fitting services. This is to be accomplished on a routine basis as outlined in the responsibilities below.\n\nApplicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.\n\nEssential Functions\n\nLead worker and trade specialist in plumbing/steam fitting in an industrial setting.\nUse of mechanical equipment to include pumps, boilers, water mains, fire hydrants, sump pumping systems, sewage ejectors and tunnel drain systems.\nKnowledge of design, installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical apparatus and equipment, i.e., heating systems, water supply equipment, drainage equipment and troubleshooting HVAC systems.\nSkilled in the use of the tools and instruments used to install and maintain industrial type electrical/mechanical equipment.\nDiagnose and repair mechanical failure.\nReview blueprints, building codes, and specifications to determine work details and procedures.\nPrepare written work cost estimates and negotiate contracts.\nStudy building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs, to establish the sequence of pipe installations, and to plan installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring.\nKeep records of assignments and produce detailed work reports.\nPerform complex calculations and planning for special or very large jobs.\nLocate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.\nMeasure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines.\n\nQualifications:\nEducation:\nHigh School diploma or GED.\nJourneyman Level Plumber/Steamfitter.\nCommercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tank endorsement.\n\nExperience/Skill Sets:\n2-4 years of experience as a lead worker or trade specialist in plumbing/steam fitting in an industrial environment using mechanical equipment.\nExtensive background in diagnosing and repairing mechanical failures.\nCapable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment\nIn-depth knowledge of Hampton Roads Interstate and local roadways.\nComputer literate; Windows-based application experience.\nExperience in radio and phone communications.\nScheduling flexibility.\nFull range of physical mobility, visual perception, and general good health.\nIndustrial experience\nRequired VDOT/Industry Training\n\nBenefits:\n15 days of Paid Time Off\n11 Paid Holidays\nMedical, Dental, and Vision\nVoluntary Short-Term Disability, Life Insurance, Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Whole Life Plus, Identity Theft, and Law Assure\nEmployee Assistance Program\n\nWork Conditions:\n90-day probation period.\nDangerous work environment associated with on-foot roadway movement.\nSignificant all-season/all-hour Interstate driving.\nPotential for significant periods of sitting or standing.\nMay be subject to short or no-notice work assignments.\nMonitored performance with routine evaluation.\nOccasional interaction with the public/media.\n\nPEMCCO, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
