Our new Austin HQ will serve as the flagship center for innovation, applied R&D, customer engagement, and rapid material development.\n\nRole Overview\nThe Controls Engineer plays a key role in designing, developing, and implementing automated control systems for machinery and processes. This role ensures production efficiency, reliability, and safety by optimizing system performance and integrating advanced automation technologies. The position requires strong technical expertise in PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and industrial automation, along with the ability to collaborate across teams and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities include developing control schemes, testing and validating systems, troubleshooting issues, optimizing existing processes, and integrating new technologies. The Controls Engineer must be detail-oriented, innovative, adaptable, and committed to advancing automation capabilities.\n\nResponsibilities & Duties\n\nDesign and develop control systems for automated machinery and equipment\n\nConduct system testing and validation procedures\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements\n\nDevelop and implement software for control systems\n\nTroubleshoot and optimize existing control systems\n\nPrepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and operation manuals\n\nEnsure compliance with experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment\n\nTechnical Skills & Knowledge\n\nPLC programming and troubleshooting\n\nSCADA and HMI system development and configuration\n\nIndustrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus)\n\nCAD software for control design\n\nProgramming languages: ladder logic, C, Python\n\nRobotics and automation systems\n\nControl system testing and validation methodologies\n\nUnderstanding of safety standards and compliance requirements\n\nAbility to analyze system data for process improvement\n\nReading and interpreting schematics,
