Job DetailsDescriptionClassification: Full-Time, 10-month position Start Date: August 2026 Schedule: 7:20 a.m. - 3:20 p.m., Some weekend and evening work may be required Reports To: Director of Library and Media ServicesWhat You Will DoInstruction & CollaborationDesign and facilitate engaging learning experiences that build media and information literacyUse innovative instructional strategies that foster critical thinking and creativityCollaborate with faculty to align learning objectives, assessments, and research skills to support media and information literacyEmpower students to become ethical users of information and enthusiastic readersPartner with K-12 library staff to enhance library services across divisionsLibrary Program ManagementCreate welcoming physical and digital library spaces that support inquiry and collaborationCurate and maintain a balanced, relevant library collectionManage cataloging, inventory, and collection developmentStudent Support & EngagementFoster a love of reading through programming, displays, and daily interactionsSupport students with research, technology use, and independent readingEncourage student voice, choice, and curiosityTechnology IntegrationSupport the use of digital tools, databases, and media resourcesGuide students in the effective and ethical use of informationCollaborate with academic technology coordinators to integrate digital tools and media resources into instructionProfessional Growth & LeadershipProvide professional development for faculty on emerging tools and resourcesShare best practices and trends in media and information literacyContribute actively to the broader school communityWhat You BringEducationMaster’s degree in Library Media, Library and Information Science, or related fieldExperienceRequired:Proficiency with educational technology, digital resources, and library systemsPreferredClassroom teaching experienceSchool library experienceExperience working with lower school studentsSkills & CompetenciesA collaborative mindset and commitment to working across disciplinesStrong communication skills with students, families, and colleaguesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of research instruction and information literacy pedagogyCommitment to diversity, equity, and inclusionFlexibility, initiative, and a growth-oriented mindsetAbility to integrate technology meaningfully to enhance learningStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsWhy Lovett?Our CommunityJoin a faculty of passionate educators who genuinely care about one another and the students we serve.
