Reporting to the Flight Software Solutions Architect, you will lead hands-on integration and DevOps work during customer implementations and contribute to ongoing module enhancements between deployments. This role is ideal for an experienced flight software engineer who wants a flexible, part-time engagement while staying close to real implementation and development work.\n\nKey Duties:\n\nImplements the flight software platform at customer sites under the direction of the Solutions Architect, including installation, configuration, and integration into customer environments and target real-time operating systems (RTOS).\nBuilds and maintains DevOps pipelines and tooling to support build, test, deployment, and configuration management of the platform in customer environments.\nSupports integration troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving configuration and performance issues alongside the Solutions Architect and customer engineering teams.\nAssists in developing future module enhancements and updates to the platform, including implementation of new features defined by the Solutions Architect.\nSupports generation of certification-related evidence (e.g., DO-178C/CAST-32A-aligned artifacts) for new features and integration work, as directed.\nDocuments integration procedures, configuration steps, and lessons learned to support repeatable customer implementations.\nCoordinates closely with the Solutions Architect on priorities, technical approach, and schedule for both implementation and enhancement work.\nTravels to customer sites as needed to support integration milestones and implementation reviews.\n\nRequired Skills, Experience, and Education:\n\nDue to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration.\nAbility to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.\nWillingness and ability to travel for onsite implementation work.\n5 or more years of flight software or embedded safety-critical software engineering experience.\nHands-on experience with DevOps practices for embedded/safety-critical systems (CI/CD pipelines, build automation, configuration management).\nWorking knowledge of modern systems programming languages relevant to high-integrity software (e.g., Rust, Ada/SPARK, or similar).\nExperience integrating software into RTOS-based environments.\nComfortable working independently on a part-time basis while coordinating closely with a Solutions Architect and customer engineering teams.\nBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field required.\n\nDesired Skills, Experience, and Education:\n\nExperience with DO-178C, CAST-32A, or comparable certification framework evidence generation.\nExperience with fault-tolerant, redundant, or voting-based architectures for safety-critical control systems.\nFamiliarity with flight software middleware frameworks.\nExperience contributing to software module design or enhancement work, not just integration/deployment.\nCMMI Level 3 program experience and familiarity with SAFe/Agile Release Train delivery models.\n\nBusiness Profile:\n\nCimarron is a global solutions company with a strategic partnering approach to satisfying customer-driven requirements.
