This role requires Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening.Job Summary: The Transportation Aide (CNA) is to provide safe transport of patients, personal effects, requisitions, specimens, charts, and miscellaneous items and assist with patient transport activities as required.Major Duties and Critical Tasks:The Transportation Aide is responsible for transporting patients and/or specimens upon requestTransports patients using wheelchairs and with stretcher transportsTransports specimens to the laboratory, and delivers blood and blood products in a timely mannerPicks up slides for physicians to review from laboratory as requestedObtains supplies from central supply as requestedParticipates/uses the automated systems in a timely and accurate manner to assist with patient throughoutIdentifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.)This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.)Assists with environmental duties in departments or units including pick up and disposal of recycling/trash receptacles; also linen removal from laundry bins to proper disposal area such as chutes for collection as requestedAdheres to the standards identified in the facility's Organizational CompetenciesRequired Education and Experience: Driver must be a minimum of 21 years of age to drive. Must have active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License and license must be maintained as a condition of employment. Acceptable history of safe driving as noted through a 3-year driving record check. Stretcher experience is required for this position.
