Senior Program Coordinators are more involved in program planning and coordination involving two or more major programs.\n\nExamples of Duties/Essential Functions:\nDuties may include, but are not limited to, the following:\nProvides overall direction and guidance to the day-to-day operations, problem solving and decision making regarding a large and complex assigned program; implements program policies and directives according to District, federal or State guidelines.\nPerforms program development and administration for large and/or multiple programs.\nAssists in the development, preparation and/or administration of department and program budgets.\nMaintains and compiles data for statistical reports, student data reports, student records and files, or material requested by the District and State Chancellor's Office.\nPrepares periodic reports, financial statements and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies.\nCoordinates with other departments and/or external vendors to arrange for support equipment, materials, services or resources for students and orients students in processes or use.\nDevelops, schedules and leads training programs for faculty, staff and managers to promote access to and increased awareness of available student support services and programs.\nDevelops and implements support programs; conducts research appropriate to the operation and effectiveness of the program.\nReviews applications or other program documents to determine acceptance or make decisions pertaining to program; advises students on issues associated with assigned program; identifies problems and provides advice.\nDesigns and develops presentations, written information and other resource materials concerning available college and community services and programs.\nAssists students with navigating college processes as appropriate for assigned program; guides students in utilizing the services of the college and outside agencies; provides referral to auxiliary resources.\nParticipates in special activities and events as needed.\nMaintains and monitors payroll records for student assistants.\nAdvances program objectives consistent with college's organizational mission and goals.\nCreates program policies and processes to facilitate student success.\nMeets with community members, business leaders and external agencies to solicit their participation and interest in college student service programs.\nPerforms related duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nEducation/Experience:\nEXPERIENCE AND TRAINING\nFour (4) years of experience performing responsible student services duties in a related college program.\n\nEDUCATION/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE\nPossession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or the equivalent.\n\nKnowledge Of:\nCurrent policies, procedures and regulations related to assigned student services program.\nModern office procedures, practices and technology/equipment.\nGeneral college classroom procedures and requirements.\nGeneral needs of population of students supported.\nPhilosophy and objectives of students services programs; problems encountered by students supported.\nGeneral principles and practices of supervision.\nBasic interviewing and test proctoring techniques.\nModern software applications (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).\n\nSkill To:\nN/A\n\nAbility To:\nDesign, develop, and implement effective student support services and programs to meet the needs of the community.\nUnderstand and carry out verbal or written instructions in an independent manner.\nIdentify and obtain resources and other needed programs and services to meet students' academic and vocational needs and objectives.\nAssign work to, oversee, and train student assistants.\nGather, prepare and maintain accurate data, records, files and reports.\nAnalyze situations accurately and independently make sound decisions in procedural matters.\nServe as a liaison between students and community or college agencies and services.\nCommunicate effectively, both orally and in writing; prepare clear and concise technical and statistical reports.\nFunction in a fast-paced environment with significant public contact.\nCommunicate effectively, both orally and in writing.\nEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of performing required duties.\nDemonstrate understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, mental or physical disability, and religious background of all students, faculty and staff, and with all individuals encountered in the performance of required duties.\n\nDesirable Qualifications:\n1. Experience supporting diverse students with varied backgrounds.\n2. Experience advising students about campus and community resources for food and housing insecurities, mental health, physical health, and childcare needs.\n3. Technical proficiency in software such as SARS, Advocate, Dynamic Forms/SoftDocs, Canvas, Canva/Venngage.\n4. Understanding of retention in higher education and demonstrated experience designing data-driven retention efforts.\n\nSpecial Instructions:\nNOTE: New employees will be placed at the first step which is $77,748 per year, second step $81,684 per year or third step at $85,836 per year (depending upon experience). Based on current salary placement guidelines, all step increases for which an employee becomes eligible shall take place on July 1st of each fiscal year.
