You will exhibit strong accounting judgment in day-to-day operations while partnering with technical experts to operationalize complex guidance.\r\nCore Responsibilities\r\nLead Controllership & Close: Own the end-to-end US month-end close, managing governance, cross-functional coordination, and reporting to executive leadership.\r\nExhibit Accounting Judgment: Apply rigorous standards to accrual methodologies and estimates; review high-risk journal entries to ensure consistency across the organization.\r\nOversee Financial Integrity: Manage balance sheet reconciliations, FX translation, and intercompany eliminations to ensure audit-ready results and actionable variance analysis.\r\nModernize Operations: Execute the accounting transformation roadmap, designing scalable workflows and driving automation to reduce manual effort and close cycle times.\r\nManage Audit & SOX Readiness: Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors, leading readiness efforts and strengthening the control environment.\r\nPartner Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with Technical Accounting to interpret and implement policies, and with FP&A to ensure accuracy in budgeting and forecasting.\r\nDevelop Talent: Mentor and scale a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.\r\nRequirements We would love to consider you for this role if you have\r\n12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership within general accounting / controllership\r\nDeep expertise in US GAAP, close processes, and financial reporting\r\nStrong experience owning or leading month-end close in a complex, high-growth, public environment\r\nExperience with audit management and SOX readiness in a public-company environment\r\nAbility to create the narrative around monthly financial results and provide meaningful insights to the business\r\nProven ability to make and defend accounting judgments and estimates\r\nExperience leading and developing accounting teams\r\nStrong cross-functional leadership and communication skills\r\nExperience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, or similar)\r\nAdvanced Excel proficiency\r\nCPA required\r\nExperience in high-growth tech, hardware, or consumer products companies\r\nPreferred qualifications\r\nExperience implementing or optimizing close tools (e.g., FloQast)\r\nExposure to international accounting (FX, intercompany, consolidations)\r\nBackground in Big 4 accounting firms\r\nBenefits\r\nAt Oura, we care about you and your well-being.
