We want our techs to be at the top of their game, so we make sure you are continuing to get the training you need to advance in your career.We offer a full benefits package including:Competitive hourly salary – $20-$40 per hour, depending on experienceTop pay for A-Level Technicians, depending on experienceIncrease earnings potential with Efficiency Bonuses, ongoing training and opportunities for overtimeOpportunities for advancement with factory paid training!Union Shop - Annual union scale salary increasesHealth, Dental, Vision insurances401(k) AND Pension PlanPaid Time Off and Sick TimeUniform Service, Work Boot allowance & Tool AllowanceClosed on SundaysWeekly pay daysSome Job Responsibilities are:We are looking for experienced Diesel Mechanics with the knowledge and leadership to grow our business.The day-to-day duties include diagnosing and preparing vehicles for repairs, performing repair work with the utmost of skill and accuracy and completing all duties in a timely manner.Operate various manufacturer computer programs to run diagnostic tests.Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealershipTest-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipmentDiagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.Perform routine maintenance on trucks: rotating tires, changing engine oil, replacing oil and fuel filters, inflating tires, replacing worn brake pads and shoes, replace clutches.Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed.Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairsExecute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specificationsWillingness to contribute to the team by participating in ongoing trainingPerform all work adhering to all safety and maintenance policies; including but not limited to the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practice.Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the jobQualifications needed are:High school diploma or equivalent2-5+ years of Service Technician experience requiredA or B level qualification including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair preferred and a PLUSASE Certification preferred and a BIG PLUSTechnical Training preferred and a PLUSMechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specificationsAbility to lift 50-75 lbs. or more with or without assistanceAbility to work independently and as part of a teamBasic written and verbal communication skillsValid driver's license and clean driving recordAbility to work in a shop environment that is affected by frequently changing temperatures.Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competenciesPositive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to continue to learn and keep up with certifications and trainingFamily owned and operated for over 90 years Frank's Truck Center and Frank's GMC is a proud GMC franchise in addition to representing Hino, Freightliner & Isuzu commercial trucks.
