Travel PCU/Stepdown Nurse (RN) | Kindred, North Dakota
Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Deliver expert perioperative care as an experienced RN specializing in Stepdown and Operating Room nursing within a large acute care hospital setting. This travel assignment is based in North Dakota, supporting a major medical center known for its Level 1 trauma services and high surgical volume.Key Responsibilities:Provide circulating nurse care in a fast-paced operating room environment with 25 suites handling 75-100 cases daily.Manage patient preparation including sterile surgical site prepping, catheter insertion, positioning, and documentation using electronic health records.Operate and set up advanced OR equipment including robotics (DaVinci preferred), arthroscopy, cautery, lasers, and navigation systems for complex neuro and orthopedic surgeries.Collaborate closely with surgical teams across general surgery, gynecology, urology, neuro, and orthopedic procedures.Participate in rotating shifts (8-10 hours), including call coverage one to two days per week and every 3-4 weekends, with potential shift extensions as needed.Flexibility to float occasionally to other units within the hospital campus.Desired Qualifications:Active RN licensure (ND or Compact) and BLS certification.Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an OR RN in large (>250 beds) hospitals with Level 1 trauma status.Experience with acute care surgical cases and robotics, specifically familiarity with DaVinci platforms strongly preferred.Strong clinical skills in neuro and orthopedic cases and adept with electronic charting (EPIC or similar).Willingness to work rotating shifts and on-call schedule.Must not reside within 60 miles of the facility (special local travel rates apply for those 60-80 miles away).Candidates who have previously worked with Sanford must have ended employment at least six months prior.Location Insight:Based in Kindred, ND, this role provides access to a vibrant community with a blend of urban convenience and small-town hospitality.
