We offer an alternative work schedule and the opportunity to work with a talented and diverse group of professionals.\n\nRequirements\nJob Summary\nThe Lead, Project Engineering, will manage the execution of multiple development efforts to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments. This is a hands‑on role and supports multiple laser development program efforts including hardware, test and operations.\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nLead technical proposals with the Business Development and Engineering teams to ensure work output is consistent with business needs and compliant with development practices.\n\nDevelops, oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects and subcontractors within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.\n\nEnsures costs are within the dictated budget, oversight of Estimate to Complete activities, and identifying to the PM, any cost growth and reasons for growth.\n\nIdentifies, tracks, mitigates and dispositions program level risks.\n\nEstimate resource and material needs for the project/product.\n\nWork through the functional organizations to assist in recommending staff and projecting future staffing requirements based in the current programs’ work and future related business opportunities.\n\nConducts earned value variance analysis of engineering tasks.\n\nCoordinates production transition / hand off to Operations and Quality efforts.\n\nProvides recommendations on investments to improve operational efficiencies in the engineering organization.\n\nAssists with technical roadmap development for product lines.\n\nFollows strategic direction set by Program and functional leadership.\n\nOccasional travel to customer and supplier sites and other IMS locations as needed.\n\nREQUIRED CAPABILITIES\n\nU.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.\n\nAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.\n\nExcellent organizational and time management skills\n\nStrong project management skills and willingness to take on project ownership and accountability.\n\nAbility to work in fast paced, small team environment.\n\nExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well within and outside of the organization with customers, vendors and leadership with minimal oversight.\n\nAbility to effectively communicate and transfer system architecture and design knowledge with other disciplines including software and hardware engineering, manufacturing, program management, suppliers and customers.\n\nExperience writing BOE’s and supporting proposals.\n\nAble to provide technical leadership, mentorship and guidance to junior engineers supporting engineering analysis, architecture, trade studies and continuous improvement.\n\nSupport hands‑on integration and testing of complex subsystems across all interfaces.\n\nAction and result oriented.\n\nAbility to work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines.\n\nExperience with management of design to cost activities.\n\nSkilled in estimating resource and material needs for the project/product.\n\nEDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE\n\nBachelor’s degree and a minimum of 9 years or Graduate Degree and minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience\n\n6+ years of Project Engineering experience in a DoD environment\n\n6+ years’ experience writing technical documentation and developing analysis reports.\n\nExperience with Earned Value Management (EVMS) in a DoD environment\n\nPrior project engineering experience on at least two programs with at least one program being a medium scale complex system or subsystem (greater than 5 Systems Engineers or $15M)\n\n#J-18808-Ljbffr","company":"Perimeter Solutions","rawCompany":"perimeter solutions","city":"Orlando","state":"FL","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-07-16T03:57:19.595Z","occupations":[{"code":"11-9041.00","title":"Architectural and Engineering Managers","slug":"architectural-and-engineering-managers"},{"code":"13-1082.00","title":"Project Management Specialists","slug":"project-management-specialists"},{"code":"17-2199.00","title":"Engineers, All Other","slug":"engineers-all-other"}],"industries":[{"code":"541330","title":"Engineering Services","slug":"engineering-services"},{"code":"334511","title":"Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing","slug":"search-detection-navigation-guidance-aeronautical-and-nautical-system-and-instrument-manufacturing"},{"code":"237990","title":"Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction","slug":"other-heavy-and-civil-engineering-construction"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Lead, Project Engineering","description":"Description\nAdvanced Laser Systems Technology (ALST) has an immediate opening for a Lead, Project Engineering.
