We strongly believe that the true reason behind our success is due to our loyal and dedicated team.\n\nPosition Summary:\n\nThe Operations Manager will manage the Operations of the Thread Roll Department from Request for Quote through Production to be the Aerospace Supplier of Choice by upholding the values of the Superior Thread Rolling Vision Statement. Operations manager is in P/L responsibility of a $3-5M business segment including direct oversight of a team of 20 employees. As leader of the Thread Roll Department will be responsible for giving direction, feedback, and correction to employees to follow policies and procedures to achieve the goals of the company.\n\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\n\nDEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT:\nEmployee relations, morale, and discipline.\nEmployee training & development\nMaintain QMS Procedures, Work Instructions and Forms to all current processes\nHold regular Thread Roll Department meetings\nPromoting, maintaining, and developing 6-S and continuous improvement\nDevelop, train, audit, and improve processes to achieve and maintain efficiency, quality and OTD goals\nInitiate internal customer/supplier meetings to improve communication and flow\nEmployee performance evaluations and improvement programs\nPromote and support the company and management’s decisions\nParticipate in various meetings and projects\nCUSTOMER SERVICE / INSIDE SALES:\nProvide technical support to our customers and vendors\nProvide technical support within the company\nPromote company for new business opportunities\nPromote great long-term relationships with our customers\nSupport customer service and sales order entry activities\nSupport Quote follow up activities\nCoordinate customer visits\n\nPLANNING & ESTIMATING\nSupport on-time release of production planning\nSupport estimating and quote generation activities\nHit Rate for THD Quotes (Goal is 30%)\nTurn Time of THD Quotes (Goal is 90% turned in 24 hrs)\nTurn Time of THD Planning (Goal is 90% turned in 48 hrs)\nTOOLING & EQUIPMENT:\nDevelop, maintain, and improve the die inventory control process\nDevelop and maintain a process to forecast die requirements\nManage new die purchases\nManage die repair and re-work in-house and outside process\nEvaluate and audit all machine maintenance log books\nEvaluate equipment, make service recommendations, prioritize, and oversee work is completed\nMake comprehensive recommendations on new equipment needs/opportunities\nReduce job delays related to tooling and equipment\nPRODUCTION CONTROL:\nSchedule the work centers\nSupport work centers to achieve the schedule requirements\nManage short and long-term capacity requirements (overtime, staff, shifts, resources)\nManage expedite jobs\nPRODUCTION OPERATIONS:\nDevelop, audit, and improve department metrics.\nAchieve Total Turn Time and KPI goals\nIncrease capacity to support monthly shipments goals\nImprove and maintain quality to meet and exceed our customer’s requirements\nMaintain a full and cross trained staff to support department needs\nTroubleshoot shop floor issues and challenges.\nAudit in-process and completed jobs (parts and paperwork) for process compliance\nDisposition NC’s and participate in Root Cause Corrective Action process to identify problems and implement sustainable solutions.\n\nJOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:\n\nTraining and Experience:\n\nMinimum of 2 years college, 4-year degree preferred\nMinimum of ten years of management experience, preferably in the aerospace industry\nManufacturing or machine shop experience, preferably thread rolling/fastener industry\nMechanical Inspection: micrometer, comparator, thread gages\nAS9100 knowledge and experience preferred\nDestructive Metallographic Inspection knowledge and experience\nComputer Proficiency: Microsoft Office, Outlook, and MRP/ERP systems experience\nProject Management\nBudget Management\n\nCompany Benefits:\n\nMedical,\nDental\nVision\nHolidays, Vacation & Bonuses\n401(k) with matching company funds (Full Time Employees)\n\nSuperior Thread Rolling is a smoke-free and drug-free workplace.
