The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, service, maintenance, repair, and alteration of low voltage category cabling, communications cabling, and other various low voltage cabling systems. While expertise in fiber is preferred, the primary focus of this position will be on racking and stacking equipment in data centers, ensuring proper installation and physical connectivity. The role includes delivering sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes always with an eye on improvement and adhering to production, safety, and quality standards.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\r\nInstall, service, and maintain low voltage category cabling and communications cabling.\r\nPull cables, rack and stack equipment, and assist with cable management tasks within the infrastructure.\r\nClean fiber and copper connections and perform basic troubleshooting.\r\nFollow Method of Procedure (MOP) and Change Method of Procedure (CMOP) guidelines.\r\nOperate work ticket systems and interfaces for infrastructure management.\r\nRead and validate port maps, and perform basic troubleshooting.\r\nConduct power distribution and cable management tasks within the infrastructure.\r\nCoordinate with other team members to ensure efficient project and work order completion.\r\nFollow company procedures and safety regulations, providing necessary information to operations management.\r\nComplete necessary documentation in written and electronic formats according to company standards.\r\nMaintain equipment and supplies inventory as required.\r\nRespond to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate client concerns and meet service level agreements (SLAs).\r\nEscalate complex technical issues to senior team members as needed.\r\nConduct Service Swaps of live networking devices.\r\nTEAMWORK:Attend meetings, workshops, training, and seminars to gather information required to perform job functions.\r\nCollaborate with team members to achieve performance targets established by leadership.\r\nStep in for the Lead Field Technician on a short-term basis, as needed.\r\nSuggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.\r\nESSENTIAL CRITERIA:Associate degree or certification in a technology services/technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.\r\nExperience in installing, servicing, and maintaining low voltage cable infrastructure systems.\r\nAbility to install, terminate, and test low voltage cables.\r\nFamiliarity with industry standards including BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local and National Electric Code.\r\nIndustry and manufacturer-specific certifications preferred (e.g., BICSI TECH, Corning TS-LAN500).\r\nStrong customer/client service orientation with effective communication and interpersonal skills.\r\nValid driver's license and ability to safely drive company vehicles.\r\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to frequently exert force equivalent to lifting up to approximately 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.\r\nClarity of vision at 20 inches or less and more than 20 inches, and ability to adjust focus.\r\nThree-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships.\r\nAbility to identify colors and give and receive information through speaking and listening skills.\r\nRegular requirements to sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.\r\nFrequent need to stand and walk; occasional need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bendThe EOS pay range for this job is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
