The Estimator/Project Manager will coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPerform take-off and estimate heavy highway, municipality, and commercial construction projects specifically in Earthwork, Asphalt and Concrete Paving, and Utilities.\nPrepare cost estimates on proposals, projects, and studies; and ensure content of each estimate is complete, accurate and meets the requirements of the Estimating Manager.\nCommunicate well with all owners, subcontractors, vendors, office, and field personnel; manage all questions and any scope issues.\nPrepare subcontractor and vendor scope sheets, send/process all subcontractor/vendor RFP’s.\nEstablish detailed cost breakdowns for self-performed work.\nCalculate trucking, production, and crew hours specific to each project estimate.\nOversee project; work with the field to deliver each job on time and on budget.\nCompose change orders, RFI’s, submittals, close out documents and any others as needed.\nManage multiple estimates and projects simultaneously.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nA 4-year degree in construction management and/or civil engineering is desired, but not necessary for a candidate with equivalent experience in heavy highway, civil, and commercial construction, and site development.\nField and Estimating experience are desired.\nMinimum 1-3 years of experience in civil, and heavy highway construction.\nMust be able to read and interpret plans and specifications.\nStrong attention to detail.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nMust manage time wisely with exceptional organizational skills.\nBasic knowledge of accounting principles.\nMust have excellent computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.\nExperience with Bid-2-Win (B2W), Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera,\nTrimble Business Center and Viewpoint software a plus.\nValid Kansas driver’s license.\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
