G&A Solutions Engineering (GSE) is IS&T's dedicated technology partner for Apple's general and administrative functions — including people, finance, facilities, legal, and security. The team builds and delivers integrated technology solutions that keep these functions running efficiently and securely at global scale. GSE also works closely with business teams to develop custom tools that improve productivity and bring greater automation and consistency to G&A operations across Apple.DescriptionWe are looking for a team member with a strong foundation in computer science theory along with industry experience. In this role, you will envision, design, develop, and deliver components of a well integrated, distributed system that will become the core financial capabilities for Apple. You have a proven record of writing proposals to solve complex problems by digging deep into a domain when needed and turning them into product features.ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will involve enhancing our current test cases, performing engineering quality assurance testing and ensuring all required tests are executed successfullyAs the designated quality owner for specific functional and application areas, you'll define qualification strategies and oversee a range of testing, including functionality, compatibility, integration and reliability testing. This will cover applications operating within complex mobile, desktop, and cloud platformsMinimum Qualifications4 years of experience in designing, implementing & supporting highly scalable systems and services in Java or other JVM-based languages4 years of experience with different data store technologies (SQL, NoSQL)2 years of experience in Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) and messaging technologies such as Kafka2 years of experience in financial engineering, having knowledge of how payments/commerce transactions are processed through systems to reflect their accounting and financial impactA bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant work experiencePreferred QualificationsUnderstand Engineering concerns like reliability, scale, availability, accuracy etc that are particularly important for PaymentsSelf-starter with strong customer and product focus, and a desire to gain awareness of an eco system and how systems collaborateAbility to communicate thoughtfully, write engineering proposals, leverage problem-solving skills, build a learning mindset and establish long-term relationshipsPractical experience with Postgres, MongoDBPublic cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc)Deployment experience using Docker and KubernetesApple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
