This entry-level role is designed for recent graduates who are eager to learn and grow within the construction industry. You will work closely with experienced project teams to ensure accurate project tracking and reporting.District OverviewKiewit Offshore Services, a district (or business unit) of Kiewit Corporation that builds structurally complex jackets and topsides for offshore oil drilling rigs. Kiewit Offshore Service leaders are seeking employees who would enjoy living in Southern Texas, ready for a fast-paced career, trainable, and can work well within a diverse team.LocationThis position is located in Ingleside, Corpus Christi area, Texas.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with project managers, engineers, designers, procurement staff, construction managers, contractors and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and construction. Develop resource loaded and cost loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projects.Develop schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations and available manpower and resources and provide detailed analysis on schedule/milestone status to the project team as required.Assess the impact of design changes and schedule slippages and inform company management and clients of all schedule updatesApply knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critic path logic networks; accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecastingMay interface with clients, attend regular meetings and give statistical reportsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related fieldExperience developing resource and cost loaded schedules is preferred Basic understanding of financial terms and calculations (Gain, Loss, Forecast, etc.)Basic understanding of construction engineering technology, codes and standards, and an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units is preferredBasic understanding of standard cost control methods utilized in the execution of various types of project (EPC, Joint Venture, Lump Sum, time and Material, Maintenance)Experience with some project controls software such as Excel and Primavera is preferredOther Requirements:Regular, reliable attendance Work productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.Perform work safely and effectively.
