We build mission critical systems for the Department of Defense (DoD) and other commercial customers. We’re looking for experienced Kotlin and Java developers who are familiar with developing applications for the Android environment.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign and develop high-quality, scalable Android applications in Kotlin/Java\nImplement unit and integration testing for mobile environments\nCollaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables\nArchitect efficient and reusable code that adheres to best practices and coding standards\nConduct code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and security\nOptimize application performance and responsiveness\nStay updated on the latest Android development trends, tools, and technologies\nMentor and provide guidance to junior members of the development team\nRequirements:\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required)\n5+ years of Android development experience\nBachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field\nProficiency in Kotlin and/or Java programming languages\nStrong understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and related development tools\nExperience with RESTful APIs and JSON\nSolid understanding of software design patterns and architectural principles\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills\nExperience with software development tools such as Git, JIRA, or Trello\nQualities of Exceptional Candidates:\nExperience working in STIG-compliant environments/instances\nExperience working with Client/Server Certificates, Certificate Authorities, and Client Certificate Authentication\nExperience with encryption and cryptography algorithms\nExperience with reactive programming frameworks (e.g., RxJava)\nExperience with Android Jetpack libraries (e.g. Compose, Room)\nAbout Sherpa 6:\nAt Sherpa 6 we love to solve problems and provide the best solutions for our customers.
