And you’ll be there when it all comes together—when the Symphony prototype roars to life on the test stand this year, and takes flight just a few years from now.\n\nIf you’re the kind of engineer who chases understanding, thrives in the unknown, and gets energy from building what’s never been built—you’ll fit right in.\n\nRole Overview\n\nAs part of the Turbomachinery Team, you will:\n\nInvolved in the development of the Symphony compression system and take ownership of at least one area: High Pressure Compressor, Low Pressure Compressor or Fan\nDesign airfoils and flowpath via CFD analysis\nDevelop 1D meanline models, design blading for airfoils, develop performance maps, spec out and participate in rig tests, assess as-built hardware, and influence how these things affect the overall Overture aircraft and Symphony integrated propulsion system\nAdvocate for component rigs when deemed necessary, analyze rig and engine test data, recommend courses of action\nContribute to developing and integrating toolchains and processes, including multi-disciplinary workflows and automation that fully integrate engine and propulsion analyses with airframe development\nBeyond these specific things, there are many opportunities to get involved in all aspects of Symphony engine development and Overture propulsion system integration, including fabrication and testing. Bring your curiosity!\n\nIdeal Candidate\n\nBachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field\nProficiency in Python or similar programming languages\nDesign experience in axial turbomachinery (including meanline and 3D steady and unsteady CFD)\nAbility to navigate through CAD to support module integration efforts in the engine\nExperience with high speed compressor airfoil design and tuning\nExperience working with engine cycle analysis tools such as NPSS or PyCycle\nWillingness to both speak and listen, to give opinions and receive opinions, to consider all the data and be part of building the team consensus to move forward\n\nWhat Will Set You Apart\n\nComponent or module ownership experience in a turbomachinery program or product\nSupersonic jet engine design experience\nPart 33 commercial certification experience\nAerodynamics or Structures lead on the development of high speed and highly loaded turbomachinery\nAirfoil tuning and aero-mechanics related analysis such as unsteady mutli-blade row CFD, flutter analysis\nExperience with operability analysis and assessment at the engine level\nExperience analyzing secondary flow systems inside engines\nBackground in developing design tools, methods or processes\nTesting and data-reduction experience\nExperience with Axstream or ADS turbomachinery software\nA strong desire to avoid bureaucracy and move fast in a dynamic environment\n\nWe’re hiring at multiple levels of experience—whether you’re early in your career or bring decades of design expertise, we’d love to hear from you.\n\nCompensation\n\nP3 Level - Typically 5 - 10 years of experience - Base salary range: $125,000 – $167,500\nP4 Level - Typically 10 - 15 years of experience - Base salary range: $139,000 – $187,000\nP5 Level - Typically 15 + years of experience - Base salary range: $152,500 – $205,000\n\nActual compensation will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience, and performance.
