Cable Technician
Job title: Cable PullerOpenings: 6-8Start date: ASAP - Monday 6/8Location(s): Northern Virginia: Chantilly, Herndon, Manassas, Leesburg, Ashburn, etc.Duration: 3 month contract with high likelihood of extendingHours: 8-12 hour shifts and 5-6 days a week (tons of OT to make) Typical shift is Day: 6am-4pm EST and night shift is either 6pm-3-5am EST (no need for night shift as of right now but still gather their availability/willingness)Equipment: They will cover any equipment they don't have but try to confirm they have as much of these as possible:Hard hat with chin strap (sold at lowes or home depot)Work boots (must go above the ankle, nothing low cut)Level 4 cut gloves (or any work gloves)Any protective glassesWork vestPosition SummaryWe are seeking reliable and motivated Cable Pullers to support data center infrastructure projects. This project supports large-scale data center builds Northern Virginia. Cable Pullers play a critical role in preparing fiber and copper infrastructure for splicing activities. Cable pulling is a prerequisite to splicing; no splicing work can occur until cable installation is complete.This role involves physically installing and routing cable throughout data center environments, often working in elevated conditions and coordinating with team members across multiple rooms and pathways. Although it is heavily preferred, no prior cable pulling experience is required as candidates will be trained on-site and can learn quickly.Key ResponsibilitiesPull, route, and manage cables through cable baskets, conduits, and pathways between data center roomsPush cables through conduits while teammates pull from adjacent roomsWork extensively in aerial lifts (approximately 10–15 feet in the air)Follow basic cable management best practices, including cable handling do's and don'tsCommunicate effectively with team members and site leadershipAdhere to all safety and site-specific proceduresMust Haves:Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (mandatory)Reliable transportation to and from job sitesWorking cellphone for daily communicationWillingness and ability to work in elevated environments (10-15 feet in the air)Strong reliability and willingness to learnPlusses:Prior experience on construction job sites (all stars will have done this at a data center already)Experience with cable pulling or low-voltage workOSHA 10 Certification (must provide a physical certificate if applicable)
