Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers.\n\nEssential Duties/Responsibilities:\n\nRecognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public.\nKnowledge of procedures for purchasing, receiving, storing, maintaining, and issuing material.\nReceives material from vendors and common carriers by unloading trucks and inspects material for discrepancies.\nChecks material for quantity, physical condition, weight, and capacity.\nEmployee must arrange own transportation to work location and may be reassigned to another location at the Company’s discretion\nKnowledge of the “Systems Applications Program” (SAP) with ability to perform computer entry and inquiries to assist with customer needs.\nAbility to manager Tool Room, disbursement and tracking of issued tools/equipment. Manager repairs and restocking of replacement tools/equipment.\n\nQualifications:\n\nHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent knowledge of English (both written and spoken), mathematics and grammar.\nThree (3) years of progressive experience in a material handler role.\n\n Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):\n\nKnowledge of hazardous material handling procedures.\nAbility to operate Company vehicles and equipment (e.g. forklift, plant vehicles, etc.) and maintain operating licenses and certifications. TDL is required.\nAbility to obtain with training and experience a CDL Class A license, DOT HAZMAT certification, etc. for making deliveries with a tractor/trailer if required.\nKnowledge of common power plant materials.\nAbility to inspect and maintain material handling equipment and machinery.\nAbility to transport material between warehouses and site locations and maintain logs.\nAbility to work in a team environment.\nAbility to influence others toward action or a particular point of view.\nAbility to accept responsibility for crew activities.\nAbility to accomplish work with little or no supervision.\nAbility to use a personal computer and associated software to perform warehouse activities.\nAbility to monitor and recommend changes to OSSQ and reorder codes for warehouse location.\nAbility to assume duties of Head Material Handler, when assigned.\nAbility to perform analysis and run Ad-hoc reports, as needed.\nAbility to create releases, prepare and ship material to vendor for repair; store and maintain pending repair material.\nAbility to arrange and ship hazardous materials to other locations, prepare documents and maintains logs.\nKnowledge of and ability to manage Open Stock and Tool Room programs.\nAbility to prepare discrepant receivable reports, process material return authorization for discrepant material.\nAbility to assist Plant personnel in maintaining gasoline inventory.\nAbility to coordinate the collection and disposition of all scrap metal, wire, wood, lead, and copper.\nAbility to expedite material as required.\nAbility to maintain inventory records and complete inventory reconciliation.\nAbility to coordinate inspections and maintain inspection logs and documentation.\nAbility to manage commodities with limited Shelf-Life guidelines.\nAbility to manage stocks of bottled and specialty gases for labs, plants, and warehouse.\nAbility to coordinate the rubber goods exchange program.\nAbility to perform quality control tasks.\nAbility to provide customer service functions for external and internal clients.\nAbility to identify and correct discrepancies in material and material storage.\nAbility to perform inventory audits and make adjustment.\nAbility to perform housekeeping duties as required.\n\n Physical Requirements:\n\nPower Plant Environment-Work both inside and outside in all temperatures and climate conditions in accordance with Heat Stress procedures. Around large rotating equipment, energized electrical equipment in high noise areas, and/or in confined places, on elevations in excess of 250 feet, or from platforms at heights of 5 feet or greater.
