Upon completion of training, the schedule will transition to 2nd shift (MondayFriday, 3:15 PM12:45 AM).\r\nResponsibilities:\r\nPerforms visual and dimensional inspection of various mechanical components and assemblies to close tolerance. With assistance as required from a senior inspector, perform 1st piece and in-process inspection in assigned value stream.\r\nIdentifies defects in surface, dimensional, visual and non-conformities (material, documentation and workmanship) to blueprints and Kamatics quality standards. Reports non-conformist of materials or unusual conditions to Quality Supervisor and cell leader.\r\nUses a variety of required basic inspection devices, tools and instruments to verify drawing specifications.\r\nPerforms all responsibilities within productivity and quality expectations. Follows work procedures.\r\nComplete basic inspection forms as instructed.\r\nPrepare product and related paperwork for presentation to customer, as instructed.\r\nMaintains clean and safe work environment. Follows safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Reports safety incidents to supervisor.\r\nMakes recommendations for improvements to work processes and procedures. Contributes to 5 S programs in work area.\r\nProvides a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contributes to positive teamwork environment.\r\nAttend GD&T, blueprint reading, gauge training classes and other training, as required.\r\nPerforms other duties as assigned. Participates in training/learning other positions. Accomplishes related results as needed.\r\nEducation:\r\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\r\nExperience:\r\nSome work experience preferred\r\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\r\nUnderstand basic inspection or measuring devices (calipers, verniers)\r\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to notice small discrepancies, defects or compliance issues.\r\nAbility to write and document findings.\r\nAbility to analyze inspection results and compare them against standards or specifications.\r\nBasic math skills with ability to understand shop mathematics.\r\nAbility to read technical drawings, op sheets and understand blueprints.\r\nAbility to understand Statistical Process Control\r\nStrong PC computer skills, with ability to use Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and an ERP system.\r\nPhysical Demands:\r\nFrequent mental and visual attention\r\nOccasional (15-40%) lifting and moving materials up to 50 lbs.\r\nFrequent walking and standing\r\nOther:\r\nWill be required to work overtime and weekends to meet customer needs\r\nAbility to work flexible work schedule\r\nA brief statement on the summary of the position\r\nBenefits:\r\nAt Kamatics, we recognize how important your career and benefits are to you and your family.
