This internship emphasizes website support; writing for collateral pieces (monthly newsletter, alumnae newsletter, magazine); potential news pieces; cross‑department communication support for Institutional Advancement and Admissions; email communication and social media support, videography, and other platforms utilized by the school. While primarily virtual, the intern may occasionally collaborate on campus based on availability. The candidate should possess strong skills in understanding multiple social media platforms, graphic design platforms, and use of photography and videography. The intern is an individual committed to fostering positive communications with all stakeholders and maintaining an inclusive work environment.\n\nMarComm intern reports to the Director of Marketing and Communication, Christine Wilson.\n\nEssential Responsibilities\n\nSupport the school website with basic content updates, formatting, and accessibility checks; log updates for continuity.\n\nAssist with the weekly bulletin layout and content, including curating cross‑departmental information.\n\nAssist with the monthly e‑Newsletter and alumnae newsletter layout and content; support OLP magazine stories (copy, captions, light layout).\n\nDraft short features and pitches for external publications (NCEA Momentum, Diocesan Newsletter), including headlines and pull quotes.\n\nCreate content and post regularly to school social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), assist with light analytics (reach, engagement).\n\nSupport bulk email communication efforts and directory/list submissions.\n\nOrganize photo assets, including tagging and updating SmugMug and other photo asset storage platforms.\n\nSupport on‑campus photo shoots and assist contracted photographers as needed.\n\nAttend on‑campus events (masses, student performances and assemblies, socials, etc.) to capture photography and video for internal and external communications/storytelling (as schedule allows).\n\nAssist in onsite and offsite printing as needed.\n\nProvide editing and proofreading support for Marketing & Communications projects.\n\nPartner in maintaining and organizing marketing and brand assets, including Spirit Store inventory as assigned.\n\nSchedule and Modality\n\nDecember–April (primarily virtual); on‑campus support may be requested periodically.\n\nApproximately 10 hours per week, with workdays and hours coordinated around the academic calendar and student schedules.\n\nRate: $20.00 per hour, part‑time, classified, non‑exempt.\n\nQualifications\n\nEnrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program. Work and academic experience commensurate with social media and other marketing communications content curation.\n\nEmerging excellence in communications, including oral presentation and the ability to produce clear documentation.\n\nA propensity to learn and grow in a professional environment.\n\nExperience in a school setting or working with students.\n\nProficiency in proofreading and grammar for editing purposes.\n\nComfort using a professional camera, as well as use of a cell phone camera.\n\nAbility to edit and update materials using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or Canva.\n\nHighly organized, detail‑oriented, and efficient; a self‑starter who is able to work independently.\n\nExcellent project management and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.\n\nAbility to work well with changing priorities.\n\nMaintain an open and welcoming presence, working well with a diverse group of people.\n\nBilingual/biliterate in Spanish and English is preferred.\n\nRequired Documents and Clearance\nOLP requires a resume and application.
