Job SummaryThe Anderegg Lab in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Utah is seeking a temporary lab technician/lab aide position to assist with research projects that contribute to a better understanding of the impacts of climate extremes on forest ecosystems. The person will assist with multiple lab and field techniques and measurements of plant ecophysiology and hydraulics, focusing on drought impacts on western US tree species.ResponsibilitiesLaboratory Technician, IIPerform laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses. Prepare and weigh samples for testing and analysis. Conduct tests, assays, and other protocols under the direction of a laboratory services manager, physician, nurse, or scientist. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs). Ensure all laboratory equipment and work areas are clean, sterile, and in proper working order. May be responsible for calibration of instruments. Mid-level support role.
