CASE SCREENER vacancies exists in the Bureau of Medical Social Work of the Health Department. These are 28 hours per week positions.A referral list will be established based on the examination as outlined below.Examples of DutiesReview of applications to ensure that all applicable information is completed.Attempts to contact client for any missing information that is pertinent to the screening process.Accesses four different computer systems (CARES, SVES, MMIS, and MABS) to clear case for processing.Attempts to match client via Social Security number and/or name to previous information in any of the four computer systems.Enters and retrieves information from the four computer systems.Works within the time frame mandated by COMAR or established by agency.Initiates a redetermination before forwarding file to case manager.Enters a narrative into the case as to what action has been taken to date.Determines associated Department of Social Services cases, sends letter to clients and requests transfer of case through clearinghouse worker.Requests electronic transfer when necessary.Assembles case folder in established order and transfers to case manager.Performs other related duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired QualificationsPossession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent plus one years' data entry or clerical experience.Proof of Education, Licenses and CertificatesApplicants are required to submit proof of education, certificates and license to meet the minimum qualifications of the position. Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant's major field of study. Documents may be scanned and attached to the application. The applicant's proof of education documents must be submitted at the request of the Office of Human Resources or at the time of interview. Copies and unofficial transcripts are acceptable.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of computer systems and data entry procedures and techniques.Knowledge of basic clerical procedurses, including filing.Ability to type at a rate of 35 WPM.Ability to handle high volume work.EXAMINATION PROCEDUREQualified applicants will be assigned a rating based on an evaluation of their training and experience, as submitted on their application and supplement questionnaire.Conditions of EmploymentMedical ExaminationApplicants selected for an appointment to a position with Baltimore County Government must successfully complete a physical examination.
