This position is responsible for ensuring products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements by performing inspections at multiple stages of production.\nThe ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment and possess a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and experience using precision measuring instruments.\nEssential Responsibilities\nPerform quality inspections on railcar parts, components, subassemblies, and completed railcars throughout the manufacturing process.\nConduct visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.\nIdentify defects, non-conformances, and workmanship issues while documenting findings accurately and completely.\nUtilize precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, combination squares, gauges, and other inspection tools.\nInterpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and work instructions to verify product conformity.\nComplete inspection reports, quality documentation, and inspection records with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.\nWork closely with Production, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to communicate quality concerns and support corrective actions.\nVerify proper installation, fit, alignment, and assembly of mechanical and structural components.\nEnsure inspections are completed in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards.\nMaintain a clean and organized work area while following all company safety policies and procedures.\nQualifications\nMinimum of 2 years of Quality Control inspection experience in a manufacturing, rail, automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, or industrial environment.\nAbility to perform inspections independently with minimal supervision.\nStrong understanding of quality inspection techniques and manufacturing processes.\nExperience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges, and other inspection equipment.\nAbility to read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.\nProficient in the English system of measurement with the ability to learn and apply the Metric system.\nExcellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic quality documentation systems is preferred.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience inspecting railcars, transit vehicles, automotive assemblies, aircraft, or heavy industrial equipment.\nKnowledge of ISO 9001, AAR, AS9100, or other manufacturing quality systems.\nExperience performing first article, in-process, receiving, and final inspections.\nFamiliarity with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.\nExperience working in Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement environments.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to work in an active manufacturing or industrial environment.\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work on elevated platforms throughout the shift.\nAbility to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, and hard hat.\nDesired Skills\nBlueprint and engineering drawing interpretation\nMechanical inspection and dimensional verification\nPrecision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges)\nReceiving, in-process, and final inspections\nRoot Cause Analysis (RCA)\nCorrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)\nQuality documentation and reporting\nManufacturing quality systems\nAttention to detail and analytical thinking\nAutomotive, aerospace, rail, or heavy manufacturing experience\nPay: $23.00 -
