Executive Director (ARCTIC)Delta Greely School District $46,000 yearly Apr 07, 2026 Career and Technical Educator Part timeTITLE: Executive Director*This position is contingent upon approval of grant funds*STATUS: AdministrativeFTE: 0.5 FTEGeneral Job Description:The Executive Director provides strategic leadership and overall management for the ARCTIC Career and Technical Education Initiatives across Interior Alaska. This position ensures effective collaboration among member districts, industry partners, and state agencies to expand high-quality, sustainable CTE opportunities for students while operating in accordance with board policies and bylaws. The Executive Director works with local organizations to hire instructors, acquire materials and equipment, room and board, and vehicles. The Director coordinates with local districts for the logistics for their students. They also work with students and liaisons to obtain the paperwork needed for courses and grant reporting. They hold orientation to set expectations, take pictures, oversee behavior during ARCTIC classes, conduct check-ins with students and instructors, coordinate evening activities, etc. or provide training to chaperones or other staff who will be filling those roles.QUALIFICATIONS:Certification: Currently holds or is willing to acquire a valid State of Alaska Educational Administrator's Type B Certificate.Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Education and CTE program delivery, including building workforce partnershipsKnowledge: Must indicate a working knowledge of State Educational Laws and Regulations; Should have a strong knowledge of Federal/State grant programs. Should also have knowledge of current industry apprenticeship programs that can be leveraged for ARCTIC.Skills:Language Skills: Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as curriculum guides, budgets, data, grant applications, statutes and policies. Ability to understand and generate written memorandums, employee evaluations, and correspondence with business and public contacts. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to individuals and groups.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply ratio, percent, probability and estimation concepts. Possess an understanding of, and the ability to interpret for others, statistical information.Technology Skills: Thorough understanding of computer technology, including systems and networks. Ability to develop or oversee development of technology resources such as forms, documents, social media, and websites for the technology needs of the Consortium.Reasoning Ability: Ability to establish priority ordering of tasks necessary to complete a project and convey these understandings and priorities to others. The program director is ultimately responsible for all Arctic activities and must operate within the guidelines of approved handbooks, policies, procedures, and By laws.Responsibility to the Consortium imposes the following obligations:Maintaining consistent and regular attendanceBeing reliable and flexibleHaving sufficient sense of organizational procedures to be able to accept discipline while working happily within the established structure and policies of the schoolBeing willing to acquire skills neededDiscussing any specific problems with the supervising staff memberUsing discretion in commenting on school matters, including the performance of other school personnelAcknowledging that criticism of school personnel and/or school practices is an ineffective and unsatisfactory method of improving public educationUnderstanding that the regulations and procedures of the districts are to be followed at all timesResponsibility to self requires each employee to:Maintain positive attitudesBe responsible for his/her own actionsKnow his/her role and be able to express this to the community in a positive mannerMaintain personal cleanlinessWear appropriate clothing (avoiding extremes)Use appropriate languageGive full cooperation to the total ARCTIC staff and consortium partnersEssential Functions:Assumes a significant leadership role in professional growth and building of morale in all staff members of the consortiumAssumes full responsibility for all programs under ARCTICCoordinates or directs other district staff with regard to programs assigned by the Superintendents to be the responsibility of the Program DirectorAssumes responsibility for the interpretation of programs, philosophies and policies of the District to staff, students and the community at largeWorks within the Federal, State and local laws, regulations and policiesEstablishes necessary procedures for referral and cooperative planning with other service-to-children agencies, both local and statewideOversees the maintenance of student records both physical and digital for course completions and certifications earnedKeeps current in the profession with regard to new information, strategies or technologies; maintains current Alaska CertificationExamples of Duties:Assists in the determination of types of programs essential to meet student needs and educational requirements as mandated by laws, regulations, and board policiesAssists with the development of draft board policies and administrative regulations for review by the Governing BoardPrepares or oversees the preparation of state and federal reports and claims, as requiredCommunicates to the Superintendents the requirements and needs of the District, as perceived by professional, support staff members, and industry partnersDirects and/or confers with other District administrators on matters of concern in their areasPrepares reports for the Governing BoardComplete reporting requirements or provide information needed by each district for reporting requirements, such as the Perkins All-in-One reportDevelop and coordinate an annual budget plan; authorize expenditures from the ARCTIC funds IAW local policiesMaintains confidentiality as required by law in all matters relating to personnel, student records, and required information documentationOther duties as assigned from time to time by supervisorTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Based upon the District Administrative Salary Schedule for number of days and salary compensation at the 9-12 Principal rate for 220 days at.5 FTE.
