The Hosting Engineer will join our Platform Engineering team to design, build, and maintain the foundation of Zywave’s cloud and on‑premise hosting environments. This role is deeply technical and hands‑on, spanning Kubernetes operations, cloud infrastructure management, observability, and secure hosting of enterprise applications.\n\nWhat you will do:\n\nCloud Infrastructure Management\n\nDesign, deploy, and maintain scalable environments in AWS and Azure.\n\nOwn and evolve Zywave’s hub-and-spoke networking model.\n\nBuild and improve repeatable patterns for secure infrastructure provisioning.\n\nDrive cost monitoring and optimization of cloud spend.\n\nKubernetes Operations\n\nManage Kubernetes clusters across EKS, AKS, and on‑prem Rancher.\n\nImplement secure multitenancy and isolation strategies (namespaces, pods, nodes).\n\nOversee provisioning, scaling, monitoring, upgrades, and troubleshooting.\n\nCI/CD & Automation\n\nMaintain and optimize GitLab/GitHub pipelines for reliable production deployments.\n\nImplement GitOps workflows with Argo CD for consistent, automated deployments.\n\nLeverage Argo Workflows for complex automation and orchestration needs.\n\nImprove release automation, including Helm‑based deployment flows.\n\nObservability & Reliability\n\nImplement and maintain monitoring, logging, and tracing systems (Prometheus, Grafana, OTEL, Observe Inc).\n\nEnsure uptime and performance through proactive reliability practices.\n\nParticipate in incident response, including on‑call rotation and leading postmortems.\n\nSecurity & Compliance\n\nIntegrate secrets management solutions.\n\nEnsure environments meet compliance and security best practices.\n\nSupport SSO and SCIM configuration with Azure Entra ID and other SaaS integrations.\n\nHosting & Systems Management\n\nManage and troubleshoot Windows and Linux hosting systems, including IIS.\n\nApply expertise in enterprise storage and networking, including object/file storage.\n\nSupport containerization strategies and patterns.\n\nSoft Skills & Collaboration\n\nStrong collaboration skills across engineering, security, and operations teams.\n\nClear and concise communication, both written and verbal.\n\nComfort participating in and leading technical discussions and incident reviews.\n\nProactive mindset—able to identify issues and drive solutions independently or as part of a team.\n\nWhat you should bring:\n\nAbility to quickly absorb new technologies and concepts, with the flexibility to learn whatever is necessary to solve problems effectively.\n\nStrong experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure).\n\nHands‑on expertise with Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, Rancher) and Helm.\n\nPractical background in CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.\n\nFamiliarity with GitOps tooling (Argo CD) and workflow orchestration (Argo Workflows).\n\nProficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform).\n\nWorking knowledge of Windows/Linux hosting, IIS, and containerized workloads.\n\nStrong understanding of observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OTEL).\n\nExperience with version control systems (GitLab, GitHub).\n\nStrong understanding of security, identity (Azure Entra ID), and secrets management.\n\nProgramming ability in at least one of: .NET, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript.\n\nPreferred:\n\nExposure to Snowflake and enterprise data platforms.\n\nExperience with enterprise networking and storage architectures.\n\nIncident management and on‑call participation history.\n\nCost optimization in large‑scale cloud environments.\n\nWhy work at Zywave?\nZywave empowers insurers and brokers to drive profitable growth and thrive in today’s escalating risk landscape.
