Tusk Holdings sits at the nexus of tech, politics, and government and is Bradley Tusk’s family office that supports his endeavors and companies: Tusk Strategies, a political strategy consultancy; Tusk Ventures, advisory-for-equity for early-stage startups operating in regulated industries; Tusk Philanthropies, working to end childhood hunger; the Mobile Voting Project, bringing mobile voting to the United States.About this role. You'll sit in the center of the firm on the operations team and help support all our entities and initiatives. No day will be the same. You'll learn from your colleagues and from the job and develop deep expertise in everything it takes to make a company's inner-workings run. Your time will be split across technology, finance, human resources, and special projects. These special projects might range in scope from developing new AI strategies for our consulting team to working with the founder on a new project or initiative of his.Your qualifications. Instinctive curiosity and a self-starter approach. You dig deeper on your own, without prompting.Excellent EQ and communication skills.Proven record of collaborativeness. The team is big and varied, and you need to be able to collaborate with everyone, making each stakeholder heard while also executing on the directives of the COO.A love for fitting the puzzle pieces together. Any successful operator seeks to automate their way out of a job (don’t worry; there will always be more to do)Superb organizational and project management skills: you get things done (and keep track of what you need to do).Concise writing skills. You write well and clearly convey meaning.Technological savviness. You’re good with tech, or you like to figure it out.You know when AI output is good enough and when it isn't, and you're honest about the difference. You use these tools to move faster, not to avoid thinking.Nice to haves. Expertise is not expected for any of the below, but you should think “I could figure that out” for most, if not all, of the items listed below.Spreadsheet skills; pivot tables, simple formulas, financial analysis.SQL skills: either be able to write SQL or use AI to write simple queries (while understanding just enough to check its work).An eye for design and graphics to create miscellaneous pitch materials and (Squarespace or similar) websites for different initiativesAn interest in cybersecurity. You follow the news, and you understand (or are learning) that security is an ever-evolving balance between protection and usability.Process improvement: you look at a process, no matter what form it takes, and you figure out how to improve and automate it.An interest or experience with HR / PeopleOps HR admin systems.Proven track record of managing up.
