Maintenance & Facilities Technician

Job Title: Facilities TechnicianReports To: Facilities ManagerPay: From $18.00 per hour commensurate with experiencePosition SummaryWe are seeking 1-2 people Part-Time or Full time, with a mix of weekdays, nights and weekends for Facilities department at the Best Western Windjammer Inn & Conference Center. This role is key to creating a safe and attractive environment for guests and associates by ensuring the hotel is maintained in accordance with all operating and safety standards.Essential ResponsibilitiesTo act as a company representative in relation to guests as it pertains to the building and grounds upkeep of the restaurant and the hotel.Assist in the maintenance of the property including painting, steaming carpets, general repair of hotel rooms and kitchen, minor plumbing and electrical work, garbage removal, grounds maintenance.Maintains safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the hotel, grounds, pool and exercise room.Drives scheduled Shuttle to/from Airport and Hospital; Helps with baggage.Keeps walkways and parking lots free from snow and ice.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsGeneral maintenance experience with hotels or apartments.Ability to lift 50 lbs.Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach upward.Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures and cleaning chemicals.Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.A clean driving record is a must, (to drive our local shuttle van).Physical DemandsLifting/moving up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Bending, handling, walking, reaching, standing and driving. Use of 2, 6, 8 ft. step ladder and a 18 ft. aluminum and 28 ft. fiberglass ladders.
