Reporting to the Supervisor, Quality Control, you will play a key role in ensuring our Production Associates have all essential high‑quality ingredients required to make delicious and safe meal kits for our customers.\n\nWhat you will be doing:\n\nReceive inbounding and inventory SKUs from the Warehouse department and conduct quality control inspections to ensure products adhere to required specifications.\n\nWork closely with the Warehouse team to achieve quality targets, in addition to performing regular inspections on packaged products for lot codes.\n\nRespond to Quality and/or BBD issues on the production lines.\n\nMaintain clear and concise communication with the Operations, Procurement, and Logistics teams; in cases of product non‑conformance, alongside maintaining a photo database of product non‑conformances.\n\nLead production associates for ingredient sorting.\n\nPerform quality control inspections on work‑in‑progress and finished products to ensure products meet Company Standards.\n\nEnsure accuracy and efficiency at designated ship‑out stations, and complete logs and records as required.\n\nWork in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations.\n\nUse personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer.\n\nConduct environmental monitoring and equipment calibration verification (Environmental sampling & ATP swabbing).\n\nProvide support to FSQA Supervisor.\n\nPerform Quality Assurance inspections as they pertain to Finished Product, Raw Materials, Water and Cleaning & Sanitation.\n\nPerform sensory on shelf stable raw materials.\n\nMonitor PRPs and PC’s.\n\nEnsure all Out of Spec findings, as they pertain to the aforementioned, are addressed through the procedures as they pertain to “Deviation, Corrective Action & Preventative Measures”, “Food Safety Assessment” and “Product Holds”.\n\nConduct internal inspection on a periodic basis, i.e. GMP audits and pre‑operational inspections.\n\nEnsure water samples are sent out to Accredited Laboratories on a periodic basis for analytical testing.\n\nProvide support to the management teams in troubleshooting and resolving problems in the Production Process.\n\nEnsure GMPs and Management of allergens is followed as per procedures.\n\nEnsure spillages are cleaned up immediately to eliminate the potential for cross contamination of allergens.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nAt a minimum, you have:\n\nPost‑secondary education in Biological, Chemical or Food Sciences diploma.\n\n6 months to 1 year experience working in QC/QA in a food processing, manufacturing or service industry.\n\nWilling and able to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs.\n\nHas experience with standing for prolonged periods of time including regular bending, twisting and walking.\n\nUnderstanding the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations and GFSI schemes.\n\nWilling and able to work in a refrigerated environment (0°C to 4°C).\n\nAbility to communicate in English, both verbal and written.\n\nFamiliar with MS Office, Google Apps and comfortable learning new technologies.\n\nAbility to prioritize, remain calm and alert while multitasking in a fast‑paced and deadline oriented environment.\n\nAbility to work independently and within a team environment, in addition to having strong interpersonal skills.\n\nLevel 1 First Aid is considered an asset.\n\nWhat you’ll get in return:\n\nCompetitive salary and health benefits.\n\nShift premiums are available for afternoon and overnight shifts.\n\n75% discount on HelloFresh or Chefs Plate weekly box subscription.\n\nHigh impact work to help feed thousands of families in Canada.\n\nOpportunity to learn and grow.\n\nWork with a hard‑working and supportive team.\n\nWorking Conditions:\nIt’s no surprise that as a food company, we use many ingredients that may be considered common allergens (i.e. peanuts, tree nuts, milk, etc.).
