The Security Engineer provides expert information system security and compliance support for CDC computing, data, and cloud environments. This role ensures systems comply with CDC, HHS, and federal cybersecurity requirements while maintaining authorization for operation across hybrid infrastructure platforms. This position is based in Atlanta, GA and requires on-site presence three (3) days per week. This position is contingent upon successful contract award to BeVera Solutions, LLC.\nNOTE: Position Contingent upon award of contract. This role is part of a pre-award candidate search for an upcoming federal government contract.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide technical security expertise across CDC enterprise computing, cloud, and data platforms.\nSupport system certification and accreditation (C&A) activities, including development and maintenance of SSPs, SOPs, POA&Ms, and continuous monitoring documentation.\nCoordinate with CDC ISSOs, OCIO, cybersecurity offices, and system owners to ensure compliance with federal security requirements.\nConduct vulnerability scanning, security assessments, remediation tracking, and software security reviews.\nSupport secure system architecture design, including access controls, authentication, and data protection mechanisms.\nImplement and maintain secure access solutions, including HSPD-12/PIV authentication.\nSupport incident response, security reporting, and risk mitigation activities.\nProvide security guidance during infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, and application deployments.\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field.\n7+ years of experience supporting security for federal IT systems.\nAbility to work onsite in Atlanta, GA three (3) days per week (hybrid schedule).\nDemonstrated experience with ATO processes and NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).\nExperience securing Linux, virtualized, HPC, and hybrid cloud environments.\nFamiliarity with FedRAMP-authorized cloud services.\nStrong documentation and stakeholder coordination skills.\nAdditional information\nAll information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement\nBeVera Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
