It is in this spirit that we encourage you to explore this opportunity to join The Management Trust team.Employee Owner Position PurposeThe Landscape Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining the Association landscaping and related infrastructure and equipment consistent with standards as established by the Association Board of Directors.Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesMonitor the condition of Association landscaping including all common areas (including wildlands, picnic, recreation, multi-purpose pathways and dog park areas) and front yards by conducting routine inspections, be observant for potential problems and take corrective measuresReport to General Manager on a daily basis to advise of progress on projects, tour property with GM weekly, prepare and submit written inspection reports, submit recommendations for facility improvements and obtain manager or Board approval for improvementsServe as the liaison between the Landscape contractor, third-party vendors, landscape committee, and General ManagerReview work schedules and daily objectives with the Landscape Superintendent and Maintenance Foremen to assure Associations’ objectives are being met. Monitor work orders and discuss any delayed work orders with the Landscape Superintendent.Determine when sub-contractors should be contracted for special projects. Assist with preparation of bid specifications, selection of contractors to be invited to bid, review bids, and make recommendations to the General Manager. Oversee contractor through job completion. Receive manager or Board approval before hiring any outside contractorAssist with yearly inventory of all facility property which will be coordinated with the General Manager and Reserve Study SpecialistAssist General Manager and Finance Committee in formulating the operating budget for the fiscal yearMaintain, or cause to be maintained, an up to date and concise Procedures Manual and a file of “as built” plans for the normal operation and emergency shut-off of all major systemsPrepare monthly status report to the Board of DirectorsEnsure a safe environment for all employees and residentsOther duties and special projects as assigned by the General ManagerQualificationsExperience: 5+ years of experience in large-scale landscape management, preferably within anHOA or municipal setting.Education: Degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field (or equivalentprofessional experience).Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of California-native plants, "smart" irrigation controllers, anddrought-tolerant landscaping.Soft Skills: Strong conflict-resolution skills and the ability to work effectively with bothprofessional contractors and resident volunteers.Special Position RequirementsHighly preferred to have and maintain a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and driving record in compliance with Company policyAbility to communicate in both English and SpanishEssential FunctionsUse standard office equipment, including: computer, phone, copier/scanner, etc.Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookUse standard maintenance equipment, including: vehicles, power equipment, hand tools, etc.Be stationary or in motion for periods of timeRelocate up to (50) poundsTravel to and from offsite locationsAble to perform outdoor work in all types of weatherSUPERVISES OTHERS?
