Today, Spenard Builders Supply is owned by Builders FirstSource, the largest supplier of building products, prefabricated components, and value-added services to the residential construction market in the U.S. We provide customers an integrated homebuilding solution, offering manufacturing, supply, delivery and installation for a full range of structural and related building products.\n\nPosition Summary:\n\nProvides sales and customer service activities primarily related to retail customers utilizing knowledge of sales techniques and industry knowledge.\n\nWhat You'll Do:\n\nProvides customer service primarily to retail customers, via walk-in, telephone or email, including assisting with customer inquiries on product selection, pricing, availability, refunds/exchanges requiring a working knowledge of company products, procedures and practices.\nActively engages in selling company products/services and related items. Provides material estimates and quotes for small packages (stairs, decks, fences, sheds, etc.).\nEnters orders into system and schedules delivery of products.\nPlans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.\nParticipates in coordinating and conducting customer workshops.\nHandles and resolves simple customer complaints and forwards more complex issues to more senior staff for resolution.\nAssists with store housekeeping, signage, stocking, inventory control, and other related activities.\nUnderstands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.\nOther duties may be assigned.\n\nMinimum Requirements:\n\nHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and six (6) months sales-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nWhat You Can Bring to the Team:\n\nKnowledge of company products, competitor’s products and company standards\nKnowledge of company product pricing, discount and estimating formulas and guidelines\nGood verbal and written communication skills\nDemonstrates strong detail orientation skills\nStrong customer service skills\nKnowledge of basic sales techniques, concepts and the ability to influence and persuade\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program\nKnowledge of and ability to use motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment\n\nWork Environment / Physical Activity:\n\nSubject to both typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations.\nMust be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.\nStanding or walking for 80% of the day.
