This role is responsible for end-to-end IT health in a small business manufacturing environment, spanning user account administration, network support, server management, cybersecurity monitoring, software licensing, and operational technology (OT) support.\nThe ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-directed, and capable of managing a wide range of infrastructure responsibilities independently.\nPRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nUser Account & Access Management\nCreate, modify, and deactivate user accounts in Google Workspace and Windows Active Directory.\nManage user permissions, group memberships, and security settings.\nAdminister multi-factor authentication (MFA) and user security policies.\nMaintain accurate records of user accounts and access privileges.\nGoogle Workspace Administration\nManage Google Workspace users, groups, and organizational units (OUs).\nCreate and maintain Shared Drives and access permissions.\nTroubleshoot email, calendar, and collaboration platform issues.\nSupport Google Workspace security and compliance settings.\nServer & Storage Management\nMaintain local Windows Server environments and Active Directory services.\nManage file server storage, permissions, folder structures, and backups.\nMonitor server performance and storage capacity.\nCoordinate data organization, archival and retention practices.\nEnd-User Support\nProvide technical support for desktop computers, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.\nDiagnose and resolve hardware malfunctions, software glitches, and connectivity issues.\nPerform workstation setup, provisioning, imaging, deployment, and upgrades.\nSupport personnel both remotely and on-site at our Rochester facility.\nNetwork Administration\nTroubleshoot network connectivity, latency, and performance bottlenecks.\nConfigure and maintain network hardware, including switches, routers, and wireless access points (WAPs).\nInstall, trace, and organize network cabling and equipment racks.\nMaintain accurate documentation of network infrastructure and topology maps.\nCybersecurity & Antivirus Management\nMonitor and respond to ESET antivirus alerts and security notifications.\nImplement and maintain endpoint protection policies across all company devices.\nAssist with cybersecurity best practices, user awareness, and risk mitigation.\nAudit user security settings and access controls routinely.\nSoftware & Licensing Management\nAdminister CAD and CAM software licensing structures (including concurrent/network licenses).\nTrack software subscriptions, compliance logs, and upcoming renewals.\nCoordinate technical software installations, upgrades, and escalated vendor support.\nManufacturing Systems Support\nSupport CNC machine network connectivity, drops, and communication lines\nTroubleshoot network-related downtime affecting shop-floor manufacturing equipment.\nCoordinate directly with manufacturing equipment vendors for IT-related resolutions.\nDocumentation & Continuous Improvement\nMaintain comprehensive IT documentation, system inventories, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).\nProactively recommend improvements to infrastructure systems, security, and operational efficiency.\nAssist leadership with technology planning and lifecycle implementation projects.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nExperience: 3+ years of proven IT administration or advanced technical support experience.\nEnvironments: Hands-on experience with Google Workspace administration AND Windows Server/Active Directory.\nNetworking: Clear understanding of TCP/IP networking, managed switches, wireless networks, and structured cabling.\nHardware: Professional experience supporting, repairing, and imaging desktop and laptop hardware.\nSecurity: Familiarity with modern cybersecurity best practices and endpoint protection platforms.\nSoft Skills: Strong analytical troubleshooting skills paired with excellent communication and client service abilities.\nVendor Management: Experience managing software licenses and interface points with third-party vendors.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nDirect experience supporting IT infrastructure within a manufacturing environment (CNC equipment communication).\nHands-on experience with ESET Endpoint Security products.\nDemonstrated knowledge of modern backup architectures and disaster recovery practices.\nRelevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or Google Workspace certifications).\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nAbility to safely lift and install computer, server, and networking equipment up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to navigate and work effectively across office spaces, server rooms, and industrial manufacturing environments as needed.\nHours:\nPart-Time position;
