Facility Maintenance (1st)

POSITION OVERVIEW:Performs the necessary functions to maintain facilities and equipment in a large distribution center. The position requires excellent troubleshooting skills, ability to organize work and coordinate activities, and provide innovative solutions to meet business needs. The position also requires the ability to work well within a team and exercise good judgment in all aspects of the work. The focus area for work will be related to MHE work and conveyor systems.KEY GENERAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBLITIES:Operate, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on the following material handling equipment: Sit-down forklift, order picker, reach truck, turret truck, pallet riders and other material handling equipment as necessaryComplete repairs and perform preventive maintenance on conveyor systemsWork closely with Warehouse Management team and office personnelConduct all tasks in a manner that promotes safetyPerform other duties as assigned including duties outside normal responsibilities as neededKEY MHE TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBLITIES:Perform preventive maintenance and repairs as required on all MHE equipmentCommunicate MHE issues to the team and day shift Lead MHE TechnicianKEY CONVEYOR TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBLITIES:Train and operate conveyor systems throughout the warehouse distribution centerPerform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on conveyor system components including belts, rollers, chains, sprockets, bearings, gear boxes and motorsReport any issues observed while performing PM's to the Facilities Manager or other designated Maintenance employeesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:High school diploma preferred (GED accepted)3-5 years of experience in a related mechanical, industrial, or technical roleMust be highly motivated and able to work independently with a positive attitudeComply with all OSHA Safety standardsExperience with standard workplace policies like SDS, Lock Out / Tag Out, Hot Work, etc.Excellent communication skills to interact with department leadership to resolve issuesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be physically able to do the job, which includes:Ability to climb by ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps and the like, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, and stand for extended periods of time, to talk and hear in order to communicate with others and hear work area hazards, and to perform heavy workVisual acuity to perform an activity such as operating a motor vehicle or material handling equipmentAbility to work in hot or cold environmental conditionsTRAVEL:Rarely (except for training or locally)OTHER DUTIES:
